My ocd thoughts are driving me crazy and i just feel like being done with faith all together I'm sick of having the thoughts and I feel like God isn't helping me and ugg I'm just over it sometimes I just wish my mother never introduced religion to me when I tell her about my ocd she says Satan is attacking me and it just makes it worse so I just want to stop being religious

Iv had almost all of what u described fear paranoia depression ptsd all due to religion and fear pf going to hell or being attacked or possessed by Satan how did u over come this religious trauma I really belive that it was traumatizing having religion fed to me at at such a young age I remember sitting in Sunday school being terrified I was going to hell because my Sunday school teacher told me I would if I didn't belive in God or get baptised
How did you work past this I gre up religious and was told from a young age that I would go to hell of I didn't belive in God ect..
Yes, I dove deeply into learning about demonic oppression/obsession before I finally figured out the stuff was making me way worse. I even had auditory hallucinations I thought were evil spirits. When I finally realized what was going on, I started taking vitamins and am finally getting back to normal.

@davisamy385 Yes. I already had OCD without knowing it, and the scrupulosity was just a natural progression of the behavior. You can still do religion, but you have to moderate it. I stopped doing mental prayer because it made the hallucinations worse.
I also go through this, it's horrible, I often thought about leaving my faith to see if these thoughts go away, but then there's a problem, those who don't believe in anything won't be saved. That's why I stay in my religion because I don't know if I could adapt without it and I don't want to go to hell either.
Consider also that OCD attacks what is valuable to you. No matter what it is -- religion, relationships, orientation, health, ethics, children, etc. If you reorder your values, the OCD theme may go away, but it will then attack whatever took its place. Also, I wouldn't be bothered by the statement that Satan is attacking you. If logic is any guide, enemies only attack those that are against them, so you must be doing something good. Keep it up š
I just told my mom my religious OCD has been really really bad lately and she just told me I needed to pray because demons can actually take advantage of me. Because demons are "stress" I'm not stressed I'm hallucinating and having genuine episodes where I think God is talking to me and telling me he hates me and I feel like there is a demon ready to take me away every night. I just feel like she doesn't understand the severity of what I'm feeling right now. She says it will go away but it comes BACK and I constantly feel endangered by something I can't even see. She said it's not that she was implying that I wasn't praying enough but still it just stressed me out. I didn't want to hear "you're right it could be Satan" I wanted to hear "you're okay and nothing is trying to hurt you" I feel like I'm losing my mind and i can't do this. I can't. My religious OCD hasn't been this bad since I was 10 I don't think. All I can think about is how im going to hell and there's nothing I can do about it and that there's an entity in my body and God hates me. I just needed to hear something else but that made me freak out more and I don't know who to turn to. I feel like I can't even explain it. I don't even know if it's OCD that's how serious I'm being. It feels 100% real.
I have religious OCD and the thoughts have been becoming really bad. Iāve been hitting myself punching myself screaming quietly if that makes sense pulling my hair out talking to myself nonstop. I canāt even hang out with my family without doing these things or going to another room to do these things, these thoughts of overtaking my life I will always be Christian God is most important to me and Iām so scared because these thoughts are terrible. Theyāre disgusting they never ending. Thereās always something going on in my mind. I donāt understand. Iām scared. Iām turning into a bad person. I donāt wanna dishonor the Lord God, I donāt know if this is just OCD or something else.
So about 2 years ago I gave my life to Jesus. I've always been a "Christian" but never truly lived liked one. Honestly never truly felt love for them until 2 years ago. It was the best couple months of my life!!! I felt so happy and loved and unstoppable! I thought this fire for God & Jesus will never burn out. One day I had a thought about is God real? It bothered me so bad and I went into a massive spiral. Doubting everything. My faith. if I was good enough. Am I really saved? Do I have enough faith? Is my doubt real? Is it too much? Have these blasphemous made God not want me anymore? Or Jesus? :( But I knew I was and that they were real! I know I've heard them. Then I started having horrible blasphemous thoughts but then it would go back to doubting thoughts then back to the blasphemous ones. I hated the thoughts and doubts. The thoughts are so mean towards God, Jesus & HS. Itās anywhere from evil thoughts to cussing thoughts to rejection thoughts/denying. Demonic thoughts. Literally anything bad you could think of! Even thoughts of if I really love them or wanna follow them. I learned about OCD from what I've looked up but I've been dealing with this for about 2 years now. It's hard. I doubt if itās OCD. Definitely feel like I'm trapped or my faith isn't the same. Which makes me sad because I want my faith! I feel like I've gotten lazy and honestly that I don't deserve them or am "too far gone" from them. I feel like idk how to be a Christian or how to have faith or just exist tbh. I wanna love God & Jesus! I want faith! I just feel kinda stuck. Has anyone gone through this or has advice or tips?
