Feeling alone
Does anyone feel alone with all the ocd struggle? Like, this is not something that we can tell to anyone. I've been feeling so lonely and missunderstood. I mean, I feel like a weirdo. This is so hard. There are some days when I feel like "this is it, i'm gonna be stuck on this forever". Tomorrow i'll see my psychiatrist to make some adjustments on my meds.
Yep I feel you! My close family knows the jist of my ocd but like i know if they knew the severity of the symptoms/ thoughts I wouldn’t be sure on how they’d think. But we mustn’t think like this. Today was a bad day for me but I let my self sit with the uncomfortableness. And I will do the same tomorrow if I feel the same. We can’t predict what way we will feel tomorrow so just take each day at a time ❤️

yes yes yes! I felt that so much. idk about the nature of your obsessions (and don’t feel obligated to tell me) but so many of my obsessions are about things that society would rather keep quiet, and it really makes me feel like an outcast to know that people would judge me for the content of my thoughts. even the more “normal” obsessions, like cleaning and whatnot, feel so out of place from what “normal” people do. but I can say that places like these and other OCD communities and support groups remind me that this illness really is just a chemical imbalance—who knows what’s going on in our brains, but whatever is happening IS normal, and so many people deal with the same thing! hope your adjustments help and feel free to reach out

Yes I also thought before NOCD therapy that I would be stuck like this forever, but I was wrong. It took time, but I did learn how to use ERP and about the nature of OCD. Some of us have what may be called taboo thoughts, which can make us feel weird or isolated because we don't know that other people have these thoughts as well. Ocd makes me feel so lonely. I crave for intimacy and being understood and cared for so much but it's like I'll never have any of these. I just overthink over stuff that makes me feel like crap, and I can't get them out of my mind. I'm set to lead a miserable life, stuck with my broken mind. This is no way to live.
I’m fairly new to treating my OCD and have felt crazy for most of my life. It didn’t help that no one in my life truly understood OCD and always said I was being dramatic. I very recently (within the past few months) finally got diagnosed with OCD and my whole life started to make sense. However, I recently opened up to someone I really believed I trusted about the intrusive thoughts I have and now feel worse than I ever have before. They essentially called me a psychopath and said they are worried for the people around me. Even though I would and could never hurt anyone. I’ve never felt more alone and broken in my life. I already try very hard to hide my OCD and everything associated with it because no one in my life understands so it’s been easier to deal with it myself than listen to everyone say whatever they have to say about my situation. After what happened today I’m even more inclined to just keep it to myself. I don’t know what I’m expecting from writing this but I figure this is the best place to write what I’m feeling. Going through OCD is hard enough on it’s own. But when people are telling you they think you’re a danger to society and are crazy because of your intrusive thoughts it really hurts. I’m just tired.
Having ocd is a nightmare. I feel so alone. Most of society doesn’t understand it and it feels so awful. I feel like sometimes I don’t have anyone I can really vent to because no one truly gets it. My family and husband are supportive but I feel like they just don’t truly get it.
