Psych Ward Experience

I went a few times as a teen, and it's not the best. I guess it depends on where you go, but the staff and doctors tend to be overworked or uncaring about your situation (usually both in my experience). Those were hospital psych wards, and I've heard speciality psych wards and longer term ones are better.

I went as a kid and it’s not the best. Didn’t help other than give my mom time to find a legitimately good therapist and psychiatrist, then get me into it ASAP.

i went and was lucky to be placed somewhere clean and safe, but still not perfect. It was very nice compared to when i was almost voluntarily admitted to a filthy hospital made of dirty carpet, stained furniture and broken wooden furniture. It really depends on the environment and people if it’s helpful. For me it was very helpful at the clean and kind place. Everywhere will have bad reviews.

Well, I work at one right now. I can tell you that sometimes they cause more harm than good…unless you’re a danger to yourself or others I would consider outpatient treatment even if it is intensive.
