I disagree with @sam121. I’ve got some experience microdosing, and I’ve yet to find anything else as effective. Pretty much completely relieves me of my OCD and anxiety symptoms, without any “trippy” side effects or ill health effects. I can feel the lasting relief from it, too, especially over time. I take doctor-prescribed medication, too, but I really can’t express how much more effective and over-all healthy for my mind and body I find the natural earth medicine to be. Truly.

I haven’t done it but I don’t think it’s a good idea . I’ve heard psychedelics can cause psychosis in some people

shrooms bring out a side to people that they don’t let out naturally if you are Pure O with harm as your main OCD that might be concerning when considering doing a drug that allows little control over the mind. I would definitely sway towards not using drugs but in the end it is your call.

Mushrooms are actually the safest drug. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/may/23/study-hallucinogenic-mushrooms-safest-recreational-drug-lsd and 84% of people have positive experiences/outcomes.

Jin, psilocybin and a microdose is usually 1/10th the size of a recreational dose so anywhere from .1 to .5 grams

Read this as well... those who have mental illnesses, considering that is what OCD is, should also understand the risks that come with that when using drugs

They also might be approved for the treatment of some mental illnesses by the fda in the near future. https://www.vogue.com/article/magic-mushrooms-may-be-an-fda-approved-drug-for-anxiety-and-depression-in-the-near-future

As far as doing shrooms to help with your OCD, I think there are better and safer/more effective methods. But in the end it is your decisions. Drugs should never be something people lean on for help unless prescribed by a doctor and as a last resort. Due to addiction and other long lasting effects. Even though some drugs may not by physically addictive they can be psychologically addictive and you should not rely on it. If you’re just looking for a good time. That’s your call but if you’re looking for things to help with your OCD I would not recommend

@sam121 I want to do them more so for my depression and anhedonia. They’ve been driving my ocd and when they’re not flared up my ocd it’s virtually non existent

For whatever the cause is. Drugs should not be a reliant unless a doctor is helping you in that process. If not used correctly they won’t be helpful or safe. My recommendation would be to go to your doctor and get medicine specifically for your depression and anhedonia.

Recreational drugs are momentary, not long term

Though I‘m not at all convinced of doctors and professionals to help with mental problems, as well not with pharmaceutical drugs, I would at best not experience with hallucinogenic drugs ALONE. I don‘t know if you have an alternative „scene“ in the US like it exist with Ayahuasca from southern america. I would try to find people knowing about the drug, maybe using it framed in rituals and so on.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with intrusive thoughts&images. At first i had intrusive thoughts around my partner, now it’s centred around me & I can’t be around window ledges or medication due to a story I read online(it’s too triggering for me) . Sometimes I feel like I can’t leave my bed due to the thoughts being so overwhelming I just break down and want to sleep. I aren’t taking any medication or therapy yet. I worry that if I don’t give my thoughts a reaction that my thoughts are true and not OCD. I’ve had these thoughts 24/7 for 2 months.

Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.

Medication for OCD? Hello all, 19 male here, this seems like a cool community that isn’t nearly as triggering as reddit. I have pretty severe bouts of existential thinking or fear of going crazy ( psychosis ) after some pretty heavy mushroom trips a few years ago, I know logically I should be fine but I do know what it’s like to lose it and it’s scary. Currently I deal with relationship focused OCD, it’s all day from before I even open my eyes. I want things to work out with my girlfriend badly. Also I can come close to a panic attack sometimes which perpetuates everything. Anyway, I mention the fear of going crazy because the way my anxiety/derealization makes me feel is that I’m not mentally stable cause I feel out of it or unreal. I saw that a lot of anxiety and depression medication can cause psychosis and I feel like I could use some help in getting ahead of my OCD because the compulsions are had not to give into when I’m in such distress/not knowing. Plus overall I just feel like I have no idea how I feel about close to anything. Anyone relate about that ?
