I do this thing where I clean my bedroom every night and I physically can not clean it until t that time. I cant pick up clothes or make my bed until right before I go to bed. Does anyone experience this as well? How do I get myself to clean whenever I want?
I would get this as well I can’t ever sleep if something’s out of place but something I try and do is like as soon as I wake up I make my bed and just organize that area to start the day and then kind of as the day goes on if like I’m using my bathroom and I notice it’s dirty I just kind of do it so it doesn’t feel like a chore. Idk that probably doesn’t help bc I barely know what I’m doing but you’re not alone!!
I have that too. It can be any room, but mostly the kitchen. I cannot sleep if I know the kitchen isn’t clean. I always clean the bathroom at night. I have learned that I use this as a coping mechanism. To distract myself from my intrusive thoughts. Cleaning out cupboards and scrubbing grout with a toothbrush at 3 am distracts me and makes me feel less guilty about not feeling “normal” for never sleeping regular hours or like other people, because I’m still being productive.
@dolo89 To Do lists are sometimes the only thing that helps me, I like to do things in order so it I put “clean bathroom” on the top I will most likely clean it first thing. That’s so far the only tip that worked for me :/ I know it sucks, you are not alone.
For me it's like if I'm off track my rituals and routine..it triggers like hell to me.. So i drop every task of that are not aligned the way i choose n want it to be
does anyone know how to deal with that feeling your clothes and things you own are dirty and washing/cleaning them doesn't help?
I clean too much at night and not getting to bed until really late. It's not germs that bother me though. I don't even want to be in my house anymore.
