Experiences with anafranil: do side effects diminish over time?

Experience with anafranil?

Hi everyone, I started taking 25mg of anafranil daily last week. Surprisingly, I’ve already noticed a slight improvement in my mood and intrusive thoughts-they’re still there from time to time, but they feel quieter. However, I am feeling some of the side effects from the drug (I haven’t been sleeping super well, I have headaches a lot, etc). I’m curious for anyone else who has been on this medication-did your side effects go away as your body adjusted to the medication, or is this just kind of the trade off? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi For me the first 3 - 4 weeks were hard; dizziness, sleepiness, dry mouth, palpitations. Now after 4 months i still experience some sensation of fatigue. I take co enzyme Q 10 to balance its depletion by anafranil… I take now 150 mg daily My symptoms are better with a good daily hygiene . But with traveling or increasing caffeine intake, or sleep deprivation my symptoms get worse. I have ocd since my childhood. The disease is hard but life worth to fight it

Clomipramine (Anafranil) for OCD

Has anyone taken this medication for OCD? What dosage helped you feel better? Side effects?

Clomipramine Treatment

I have been taking Clomipramine for over 2 months now, starting at 25 mg and titrating up to the maximum of 225 mg (of which I have been taking for 2 weeks now). I still do not feel any benefits as my OCD is still as strong as ever. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with clomipramine where it just took longer to get working. I should mention I am also doing ERP with NOCD as well. I had tried Fluvoxamine and Paroxetine prior to Clomipramine, both of which resulted in side effects that I could not managed. However, with Clomipramine, I have minimal side effects so I’m willing to stick it out. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Prozac

My psych just upped my Prozac about a week ago… having some wild side effects. I responded to it really well at a lower dose, so I’m hopeful it will get better! Have any of yall experienced side effects like increased intrusive thoughts, but less emotional responses? General muscle weakness and just feeling bleh? How long did that last for you?
