How does false attraction feel like for you guys?? For me it is like I find almost every guy attractive and it feels so real like it is coming from the heart, I find women attractive too but my brain says yeah you find her attractive but you don't want to be with her in future, you want to be with a man and it feels so real, does anyone feel like this??
Yes, I feel the exact same way, it's incredibly difficult - feels like the attraction is almost for every person of the same gender, this was never the case before OCD, no my mind is preoccupied non-stop with this theme.
As I've commented on here before, it's not every member of the same sex but it certainly is a lot in both age directions often times +/- 15 years and various looks that it makes me wonder why it would be real at all but it seems real! I feel like I am seeing a sudden fear gasp if it's real bad. I feel heart rate increases and with that includes temperate raising and groinal and blood flow down below, the air near the people seems hotter like pulling me. I have also started getting like this thing trying to tell me I should do sexual stuff while in close proximity that I feel like I need to really hold my hand back or something will happen. It feels like I'm getting multiple crushes every day and my mind makes that very believable with being able to recalling that I saw them or had a conversation with them sometimes even without seeing the person's face even. Plus because it makes it harder to find women attractive most of the time. And sometimes I'll be "attracted" to a woman but almost expect it was going to be a same sex person thus end up trying to avoid that too and make me feel worse. Also if there's people with ambiguous features and literally can't tell which they are I'm probably looking at them to find out because of the features in opposite I like normally.
It us exactly the same for me, but everytime I see a guy I feel like find him attractive my heart rate doesn't go up, and I don't feel that much anxious it makes me feel like I genuinely find them attractive but deniaing it, this makes it more real, I find women attractive too but I don't feel that sparkle like before
@jj12 The heart rate thing really gets me and makes it so much like I'm in denial of something. When you say you feel like you genuinely find them attractive like pulls you or feels like a physical attraction or what
@jdd It feels like I want to be with them if they are near me I feel like I would kiss them, it almost feels like getting butterflies but I don't want that I don't want to find them attractive
@jdd What is with that heart rate? Is it like due to fear or like the feeling of getting butterflies or something like that???
@jj12 I don't know. Seems like fear or attraction that I'm denying at this point
@jdd It spikes for same sex images thoughts voices and people in general from 5bpm to 40bpm higher sometimes and either lingers or goes back depending on if I start to feel less distress and calm myself or if they keep triggering me. Having the smartwatch has been a bad thing for my OCD lol

I feel immense anxiety and repulsion
I don't feel that anxious, I simply feel like I don't want to get attracted and I'm deniing the attraction, this makes it more real

hey, so i’ve had these insane thoughts about like, this dude. and i assumed it’s intrusive feelings, but it also has happened w the fact o think i like girls? but i don’t? like, i get the gronal response, and everything, and like, it sometimes feels like i actually like them, but it always makes me sick? same way w the false attraction guy, and it even started happening w my bsf of like 9 years? and it’ll tell me the most insane things like “maybe u are attracted” “maybe if u got w them the thoughts will stop” someone please help.
False attraction has been killing me ive had it for months with the same person. I have a boyfriend so having false attraction makes me feel so guilty. And lately theyve felt so real and ive been so anxious. What if I do like him bla bla. Ive only ever saw him as a brother and we have a good connection and he is one of my good friends but even sometimes when im having a conversation I feel like im cheating. Sometimes I get excited like oh yay he is gonna be here and then I get scared that it’s romantical because I get excited when he is around because he is a funny. Im so scared thats its real attraction because I love my boyfriend I would never do such a thing. And lately my minds done stuff like oh grab his attention stuff like that and it feels like I have done those actions but I dont want to. Sometimes when he is like idk sitting near Im like oh is he looking and my minds like oh do something to empress him bla bla. Recently he was going thought stuff and my boyfriend was there and I was I can give him a hug because I think he needs it but after I thought of it as bad because he is a guy and I had this false attraction what if I did it because I like him bla bla. I am freaking out idk why my mind makes me do compulsions that I have acted on like oh go talk to him and I do its weird urges that I do not want to do. I am scared that it will come true
Can anyone give their experience on FALSE ATTRACTION? At this moment, mine has become worse. Soon as I see a male my anxiety shoots up, I can feel this in my chest and my OCD is telling me I’m attracted. But I continue to look back or stare and the disgust comes over me and my body shakes and I feel my face screw up. I can’t listen to music I use too or watch movies which was a favourite thing of mine to do. I just feel disgusted and not who I am when it happens. It’s like a different me. P.S. I had a very good week few days ago where I knew this wasn’t me and these feelings/ thoughts isn’t me.
