Going to hell for buying a pill organizer

For Context I do have a bit of a spending problem that I am working on. Some things I just buy as a coping mechanism. However, I am working on it. I was just was able to get an OCD therapist, and I am finally on medication. I'm currently picking up my meds and I was thinking of getting a pill organizer or pill box to carry them in, however as OCD would have it my brain has convinced me that if I buy the pill organizer I would go to hell. Because lately I have been experiencing thoughts of going to hell if I buy something.

If you'd like an objective opinion, I'd say that a pill organizer is a reasonable purchase, especially if you don't normally take a daily medication and need to build the habit while also being aware of whether you took your dose for the day or not. Even as someone on daily medication for many years, there are times where I have to think hard whether I remembered to take my meds in the morning. As for what OCD is telling you, part of therapy is usually to do the opposite of whatever safety behaviour it is saying you need to do - you may want to double check with your therapist on doing this as a little exposure. Congrats on beginning your journey to recovery!

@ReadyForImprovement Maybe ERP would be something around worries of “going to hell”, worries about “excessive spending”. So, saying “this feels like a reasonable purchase OCD, but I might be wrong, and maybe I will go to hell for being an excessive spender”. Or “thanks for the warning, OCD!” Or “I might go to hell for my spending habits before I get them under control”

Oof, I have a spending problem, and it’s also tied to things I mostly feel are reasonable purchases (like organizing boxes, and recently I also got a pill organizer which I did need), but what makes me feel it’s excessive is that almost every day it’s like I’m buying something. Not always expensive, but it adds up. And it does give me a little dopamine good mood hit. But then the GUILT IS AWFUL. It’s so stressful.

Evil OCD

im Catholic and ever since starting highschool and started being scared of what people are thinking. I’m scared that I’m evil and that I praise evil because my ocd is a fear of talking to it so my compulsion is to focuse on talking to something or someone else. But, I keep imagining evil like under the ground and now it feels like I know its personality. And I can’t imagine it as truly evil and I can’t even imagine God anymore. Please help

OCD panic

I recently started medication as I have struggled with harm ocd. The thing is is that it’s not actually stopping the thoughts which I know is a given and it’s scaring me more without the anxiety (ruminating) and making me belive it’s possible. And I told this to my friend and she suggested anti psychotics This made me spiral because it made me think that I’m schizophrenia and no hate or judgment to people with schizophrenia it just scared me. I started worrying that I shouldn’t be around people and a horrible person ect I know reassurance is bad but I just need some advice bc I really don’t know what to do and I’m panicking
