So this is why I hate this app. It’s designed to help people with OCD. But God forbid you post something that makes someone “uncomfortable” News flash: we’re all uncomfortable. You post something and people report it. So I guess only people with lesser forms of OCD receive support on here.
It’s a theme in society now that you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable at all or else you’ll fall apart—you won’t. Avoidance of triggers and your fears MAKES mental illnesses worse. But that’s a hard concept to grasp for a lot of people nowadays.

It isn’t healthy if people are reporting your posts due to feeling triggered. Exposing yourself to things that may be triggering is a part of the recovery process. However, it’s a good idea to check the trigger warning box if you’re posting about anything that’s especially sensitive in nature. I’ve dealt with severe OCD revolving around pretty taboo topics, and I’d say I feel fairly supported here. But it’s true we’re all uncomfortable here. And a few folks here do need to work on sitting through that discomfort rather than shutting others down
@mothmanda I do mark that it’s triggering 😔 But this isn’t the first time its happened. My posts usually get reported because it claims I’m asking for reassurance. But I’m not. I KNOW what I’m experiencing is OCD (I’ve been diagnosed) but when I ask “has anyone else experienced this” I genuinely want to know because I don’t like feeling alone in my thoughts
@Cat_attack That’s not really fair… I ask the “has anyone else experienced this” question all the time, and it isn’t reassurance seeking. It’s totally valid to not want to feel alone in your thoughts
I agree. I think there’s definitely a line between sharing a real experience just for it to be considered sensitive and then like over sharing or trauma dumping like really fucked up stuff. Idk sometimes people get way too caught up in their own feelings abt other people’s experiences and it can get rlly frustrating cause it’s not even abt them so I totally understand. @ceceliaviox Yes! I have definitely been triggered on this app. Thats why I only come on every few months because I don’t like reading through what others say because it stirs up thoughts/memories of my own. But people need this app to help them! I only ever reported one post on here. I can’t recall exactly what it said but it was a very graphic discrimination of the sexual thoughts they were having regarding OCD. And I felt it would make everyone on here triggered

What I have noticed often on here on any subject , it could be anything, conservative, liberal, moderate a person and their personal views are colored by those views as to what they have issues with on here . Overall I try to realize this is a open forum and people should express all viewpoints, not just the ones I agree with. I wish others would do the same . Just as a example if someone is of a certain religious background, let them have their day , if you don’t agree with it that is ok , but not reason to flag or report the post . Just move on if you can’t contribute at least something meaningful, at a minimum a neutral comment . To each his or her own .
@777Q Completely agree!!! Especially with religion (I know that’s not often a topic on here; unless people suffer from thoughts of blasphemy). I am Christian (non denominational) and what I have personally noticed my entire life, I’m in my 30’s, that Catholics and Lutherans are cool but Christians (who refer to themselves as simply christian and “we don’t practice religion) are very anti everything else. Every other way of worshipping God is wrong; even if it falls under the Christian faith. If it isn’t “Christian” they attack. 😔

Might delete this app some people say things like they aren’t distressed by there thoughts an I’m not sure if ya recovery if if they never had ocd and it is triggering Which sucks I love the support in this app I just don’t know what to do
I like this app but unfortunately I just don't seem to get the support I need. Feel so alone. I see other people post and lots of people relate to what they are going through and always reply. I just don't seem to find that. (harm ocd sufferer) when I say hocd most people think I mean homosexual ocd. I know we aren't supposed to ask for reassurance and I'm not really just would be nice to find someone who suffers the same and gets what I'm going through.
I wish we could blacklist certain forms of ocd lol some of these really don’t make this app as great as I hoped it would be
