Finding a co worker attractive

I went out for drinks with a group of colleagues and one of them i think has a cool vibe but im in a committed relationship and would never do anything to hurt my boyfriend because i love him so much I cant “imagine” myself with this co worker or anything its more just his vibe is attractive and i hate myself for thinking that I moved seats and sat where he sat when he got up but its because i was on the end and wanted to get more involved my brain was like “its because you want him to sit next to you” but that wasn’t true BUT i now feel so disgusting and guilty (he didn’t sit next to me by the way he sat somewhere else after) Anyone been through this- whats happening to me😭😭😭😭

Hey, I think its totally normal to view other people as cool or attractive. Attraction does not have to mean anything. Just because you are in a relationship its doesn’t mean you lose your eyesight or something:] I sometimes feel just like you! And i think it is so cool you sat on his chair!! That is great for erp. You got this, sending lots of strength and hugs :)!

@Fragile Ahhhh thank you for this🥹 i actually thought this yesterday because i got the thought “you want to sit nearer to him thats why your moving” and i couldve stayed seated but i told my brain to shutup and did it anyway. Thing is, i do regret it now though😂😂😂 My brain is trying to work out my “true intentions” because nothing happened we didnt even sit next to eachother or even talk but its the thoughts i had that i want to make sure werent wrong😭😂

While I haven't been through your exact situation that you describe, I have been through some similar ones -- ones where you want to tell your brain to shut up because you know your own feelings but your brain is acting like a nagging person. In my personal experience, this sounds like something I might go through around past crushes that I believed wouldn't be actually good matches, but my mind still kept nagging me about it. Try to have compassion on yourself while you work through this, because it really isn't easy

@Anonymous Yeahh! I would say he has a nice “vibe” but i dont even think hes good looking but my brain is convincing me that i moved seats to sit nearer to him but im so sure that wasn’t the case i wanted to sit next to the girl who i get on with- and we didn’t even end up sitting nearer to each-other or talking much its just my “intentions” which i dont know😭😭

@Anonymous I hear you. They say that you can't use logic to try to combat OCD, it just doesn't work. Who can even say what their true intentions are anyway?

@Anonymous Well, if your boyfriend knows that you have OCD and if he knows how to help, that would be great for support. I know not doing compulsions is hard, including confession. I have an issue with confiding in people, but I'm not sure if that's a compulsion or not...

@Anonymous Yeahh he knows i have it but i just dont like talking to anyone about it. I think if you feel compelled to confide then maybe its a compulsion. But yeah for mine i just want to know if it was cheating or not really :( i feel so guilty

@Anonymous If you share because you feel some sort of guilt and confessing that brings a momentary relief to your anxiety, then that would be a compulsion. But you’d know because when that is a compulsion your brain will come back with “wait, you forgot this detail” or “oh there was another time you haven’t told them about” And the cycle starts all over again,

Feeling guilt

I sometimes come back to this particular feeling and thought. So when I first met my partner I wasn’t immediately attracted to him. I don’t think I thought he was ugly by any means. I met him at work along with another new go worker and I thought the other co worker was cuter than my current partner. That alone fills me with guilt but what’s even WORSE was that I told a friend “Oh man I wish that guy was in our group instead of the other.” Something like that. I feel so much freaking guilt over that comment. I adore my partner and this always fills me with shame. I think my partner is the most beautiful man in the world and I kick myself that that was my first thought or worlds about him. I don’t know what to do. I want to confess but how do you even say that to your partner? I just feel so guilty and awful inside….

I frequently feel the need to test myself with sexual scenarios with a guy jn my class, im jn a relationship and i keep testing if I find him hot attractive or whatever and i have many crisis about it likw i pray to god to not make me attracted to X person, sometimes I avoid going to school i avoid looking at him I skip periods and truly yall idk what to do anymore. Can someone give me suggestions? I'm scared I don't wanna be attracted to anyone else besides my boyfriend i don't wanna cheat on him I don't wanna do anything I just wanna live a quiet happy life with him . I'm worried I know the truth and just don't wanna accept it jm super worried I need suggestions pls

False attraction

False attraction has been killing me ive had it for months with the same person. I have a boyfriend so having false attraction makes me feel so guilty. And lately theyve felt so real and ive been so anxious. What if I do like him bla bla. Ive only ever saw him as a brother and we have a good connection and he is one of my good friends but even sometimes when im having a conversation I feel like im cheating. Sometimes I get excited like oh yay he is gonna be here and then I get scared that it’s romantical because I get excited when he is around because he is a funny. Im so scared thats its real attraction because I love my boyfriend I would never do such a thing. And lately my minds done stuff like oh grab his attention stuff like that and it feels like I have done those actions but I dont want to. Sometimes when he is like idk sitting near Im like oh is he looking and my minds like oh do something to empress him bla bla. Recently he was going thought stuff and my boyfriend was there and I was I can give him a hug because I think he needs it but after I thought of it as bad because he is a guy and I had this false attraction what if I did it because I like him bla bla. I am freaking out idk why my mind makes me do compulsions that I have acted on like oh go talk to him and I do its weird urges that I do not want to do. I am scared that it will come true
