ROCD crush???

Hi guys I need help, I have a girlfriend of almost 2 years and feel like I like another person? I love my girlfriend with all my heart and I like everything about her even all her little things. I feel like I have a crush on this person or like an obsession? It’s not even that I think about her in a sexual or lustful way, she just happens to pop into my mind. She is attractive but my girlfriend is better looking. I would never leave my girlfriend for someone bc ik the 80/20 rule and my girlfriend has 100/0 because I want everything of hers. I’m just stressed out and idk what to do because it causes me anxiety to think about someone like that whenever I have a girlfriend I’m just very confused and I wanted to know if any of you guys had anything similar or advice?

Hey :) I feel your pain! I am with my bf for over 5 years now and I also had periods where I was so scared, I’ll crush on someone else. Once it was so bad, I couldn’t differentiate anymore if I really crushed on a new boy at school. But I learned that in the end, it doesn’t matter. Love is not a feeling, it is a choice. Of course falling in love isn’t, but we all will meet many people in out lives which we’ll find good looking or maybe we’ll even crush on them. But if you really love someone, this feeling doesn’t matter. Of course it sucks and we don’t want this, but we are still humans with eyes yk :) I can read you love your girlfriend very much and that is all that matters! Love is a choice when attraction is gone. And I think that is the cool thing about it: the commitment we make. To me it is beautiful that out there are so many people but yet we still choose just one. Feelings come and go in waves, I felt that for myself. You “just” have to learn how to ride with them! Try to not focus so much on potential feelings you could or couldn’t have for others. In the end, it really doesn’t matter :) I wish you all the best!

@OcdHater5 i recently read an article that NOCD posted tho and it was abt false attraction. it said how if you feel more positive feelings when thinking of this person u like them but if thinking of this person causes u anxiety and the need to avoid them(basically more negative emotions) it means it’s false attraction. i don’t know if this helps u but it definitely helped me put things in a better perspective

@smokey32 I understand that and it honestly makes me feel anxious and upset but I keep looking to see if they snapped me back and idk I just don’t know at all but it makes me so upset and I just want my brain to stop but I keep thinking what if I cheated, what if I broke up w her to be with her, it just makes me feel like such a bad girlfriend. Idk what to do really but I figured exposing myself to the snapchat aspect of it would make me feel less anxious because it exposes me to it but idk really. @OcdHater5 what do you mean by exposing yourself to the snapchat aspect? and as for all the thoughts you get, i get the same exact ones. those thoughts are just your brain trying to make you believe what u fear most is true. regardless of how u feel for anyone, all that matters is what you do with those feelings. the only thing you have in complete control right now is your behavior towards these thoughts and your actions. from what your saying, i believe that based on all the fears you have of doing something wrong in your relationship and how much you love your girlfriend, this is nothing more than OCD and your intrusive thoughts regardless of whatever your brain is telling you otherwise.

ROCD

Lately, I’ve been kind of confused. I’m in a relationship with a person I’ve known for a long time. I also happen to deeply like two famous people I know. It’s like I’m extremely attached to them. All day I think about them. But it’s kind of weird, because I don’t spend all day thinking about my girlfriend. I love her, but it’s like these other two people are on my head all day. It makes me feel insanely horrible for being in a relationship. I feel so myself with thinking about those two, like I’m free from everything. I feel insanely guilty too. To the point it’s been causing depression, and this obsession of needing to know what’s wrong with me for this. It’s like I try to tell myself nothings wrong, but I feel so guilty. I just think about them all day, and not my girlfriend. It concerns me. I’m 15, I just turned 15 yesterday. And I always try to talk too my mom about this, but she always says the same shit. “I was like that at your age” but I’m not trying to say that. But like seriously I’m so confused about myself at this point I don’t even know what too do

ROCD HELP

So another obsession just popped up and it’s how during school I had a class with this one girl and I would always notice her. Like whenever I looked around my eyes would always go to her. And right now I’m just scared and feel like a terrible boyfriend bc even when something funny happened I would look around but my eyes would find my way to her. Now I feel like I just wanted her to notice me and it feels weird

Intrusive thoughts about others

I am in a relationship but I cannot stop getting thoughts about this new coworker I met, my mind convinces me they are so attractive and so great and I hate it so much. My current relationship has its imperfections (as every one does) but I am so happy with her and have always been so loyal. Would OCD target those imperfections and exploit this situation? Additionally I believe I’m feeling ROCD fears of cheating but I know in every opportunity I’ve talked with other women I am loyal to my partner by bringing her up. Does anyone experience the same thing? Is this really OCD or other subconscious intrusive thinking?
