Why should we trust a God who doesn't protect us from evil?

Trusting God

I dont understand how others can accept that we have to trust in God but we still arent protected by Him. Not in a black and white way, He shouldnt protect from things you did for yourself. But as i read more and more i start to think that He cant protect us from other people, from physical hurt, from rape, murder, cause all those things happens to christians too. For me a God who throw us here and doesnt protect you from evil, then make you choose either Him or hell... i cant believe in this god... i dont knoe how yall can

Life can be very difficult. I have to believe in God and trust for myself. There is evil in the world... always has and always will be, but there is also a lot of good in the world too. Just remember always do what can for you and for others and trust in yourself.

Yeah i agree, theres not just bad, yet still we cant help on the people whos life was really difficut, cause the basic religious answers wont help... People doesnt even know the answer nor if we can really trust in God. Some say yes as i did cause my life didnt had really difficult things like rape and things like that, so its easy for me to trust, but how should a victim trust? Or if we take that it just happened, it can happen to us too...

@PRIV8 I know what you mean and yes anything bad can happen to anyone at any time, so it's hard bc it makes you wonder about everything. I don't have the answers and I don't think anyone on earth does. It's all faith I guess, but why do bad things happen to good people. I just have no reason. There is a book out there from the 80's called when bad things happen to good people. I never read it. My mom did after my father died. I don't know if she still has it, but she has alzheimers now, so I would just have to buy it. Maybe this will help?!?

There is no hell in the Bible, it’s an old English word meaning covering place. Just like Helmet means to cover your head. It is translated from the Hebrew Sheol, meaning grave, Greek Hades, meaning the Greek mythological abode of the dead and Tartarus, the center of hades. Also the Aramaic Gehenna which is a literal place on Earth the valley of Hinnon. Just trying to give you a new perspective to think about. If there is a God maybe it’s not what you thought before.

@PRIV8 I know you think that but you need to reread what I just wrote you. The word hell is not in the Bible, it is a translation of other words. Jesus spoke in parables not literal language. You can choose to believe whatever, I’m just trying to give you something to think about.

@Malisimo Okay its your view I accept that, i dont believe it cause then its way worse, then the victims attackers will go away with it, and alot of evil people will go away with the things they done...

I don’t think of God as my cosmic bodyguard, or my cosmic ATM. As I read the texts I understand God as a being outside of physical time and space who created the universe as we know it. God created and chose us to partner with. We were given choice. We are not fleshy robots. And the texts tell us we chose defiance and we chose to do things our way and under our own power. Bad choice, but our choice. All those other people have agency and choice and we live with and around them. Many many people chose to live under their own power and actions and take pride in what they accomplish for themselves. We are called to help others. We are called to try to protect others from those things you mentioned… and we will fail often. But we will succeed just as often and sometimes not even know it. The trust is not that God will protect me from other people’s evil acts but will protect me from doing them. And if I do sin (fall short) I have a path to forgiveness. I can’t control others, only myself. Kind of like I can’t know the future…

@Kit Kat Chocolate In my life i can see that what i dealt with God helped me to get stronger by that. Maybe its a wrong view but i think if i wouldnt go through these things i would be as strong as i am today. I was a sensitive kid,i was boolied, i dont remember if i ever blamed God because of that, maybe i did but i dont remember it, but expecially now i dont blame God, i feel like that was a sign that i have to be stronger and believe in myself and dont care what others say. In this i can see that God used it for better. But again, some children gets sexually abused, or physically,they have the worst life, how can God use this for good? Im actually not angry at Him for my situations but for others

sometimes I just don’t understand God. I just wanna go up to heaven and yell at him “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?” Just as I wrote that I burst into tears. what does he gain from watching me suffer, this is hard. this is so painful every single day, I guess this is karma for everything I’ve ever done. I want to tell someone, I have a therapist to talk to but honestly she’s dumb to me thinking I have OCD. I obviously know I’m not alone but I feel so...alone.

Way way overthinking

I have completely lost myself. I was doing so well yesterday. I have absolutely no desire to hurt anyone but why does it bother me that I couldn’t hurt someone even if I wanted to. Like Do i really want to? I know my belief in God fully convicts my heart but why would I want to do it. My heart just wants to praise God but I even question why God made our hearts to praise him. Like why is it bothering me? I loved to be a good person and I truly want to be the old me again but why does it feel like I just don’t want to. I’m so scared. I don’t want to go to hell but why is murder in my mind. Is this existential more than harm OCD? I’m sorry if this is a confusing post.

How do you deal with derealization?

I just want to obsess and attach a whole story. What if I’m stuck this way. What if I go crazy and can’t remember what I’ve done. What if I stop loving God and turn to new age and I become evil and start hurting people. I just can’t. I have never thought I was evil. My entire life until I had my daughter and my mind told me she was of the devil. I was so mad at myself. How could I think about my precious gift this way? And now I’m so clueless as to why I even exist and how could this happen. It’s like nothing is real an tangible anymore. I feel like everything is such a blur in this life. I want God to be real. He has always been my whole life. It even makes 100% sense to me at the same it doesn’t 😭 I didn’t waver on my beliefs at all before this kid and it’s like me thinking about her like that has caused me so many problems along with horrible side effects from meds that made me see things in slow motion. I’m in therapy but it’s take so long to heal and for me to love my life and me again. I feel like I look at my self and think. You can’t trust you anymore. This world too has turned upside down to me. I am just so heartbroken. I want to be a good person an it seems like I’m going to turn evil any second and I’ve never been purposely evil or mean to anyone. I got bullied as a kid. 😢. I feel like I’m losing my identity an understand who I am.
