Haven’t been somewhere where I can’t keep myself busy. And don’t know how to do so or what to do. Any tips would be helpful. I am very anxious. Everyone is working and I don’t have a car so I am trying to schedule an Uber and can’t find a ride.
Crystal, Reminding me of when I had to go to court for a DUI I received. To keep it short: Most of our anxiety comes from imagining into the future, usually in a "negative way". First step is to bring yourself back to this moment, right now. Try to do some deep breathing, slowly, and then exhale and ahhh let it all out. Okay - now that you're in this moment with me - You're gonna be fine. I can assure you that no matter what happens, you're gonna just feel relief that you made it through. So why can't you just experience that feeling now? Might take some practice, but try. Start imagining more positive scenarios too: Car ride is smooth, super nice Uber driver, Judge is in a great mood, everything goes in your favor. I can not say for sure that this will happen, but if you think about it, it's literally the same thing as imagining the worst, right? "You feel a certain way because you think a certain way" Do you best to bring your mind back to this moment, and before your know it, you'll be through it. Plus, like I said, maybe it'll go better than you expect. Either way, this too shall pass, take a deep breathe, you got this.

Guys I need help. I feel so alone . Basically I have this compulsion where I feel the need to write everything but this stems from me being anxious about EVERYTHING. Like my mom came in my room and I was irritated and snapped, immediately regretted now I keep writing “don’t be mean to mom next time” but I keep thinking about it. Then I think about how I finally left my house today and all the surfaces I touched that could’ve been contaminated and now I’m writing “next time don’t touch this and this”. Then I think about all the things I need to be doing for this week and I’m writing “don’t forget to do this and this” even though I’ve written it 5 times already. This is what happens everyday btw. My brain always thinks about something I need to be doing and making me anxious that I’ll forget it which is why I write it down on my notes app. I’m sooo mentally exhausted I need help pls!! Anyone have any advice ? I used to think I need to stop the writing but really I need to stop the anxious thoughts coming into my head . People say I need to accept the thoughts and let it go but that’s too hard for me
Hi everyone. I'm feeling kinda scared because I have to wait a whole month to start ERP therapy, but I feel like I need to start doing exposures now because the longer I wait, the more anxiety I get. It just feels like the OCD monster is getting worse. One thing that helps me is asking one person about an obsession I have...asking a person that I trust, and then doing an exposure after I get the "ok" to do it. I feel like I do need 1 reassurance and then I can go ahead and do it. I know i'm not supposed to ask for reassurance at all, but i dont think you're supposed to do ERP on your own right? Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do while waiting for therapy? PS-the reason there is a wait is bc she's on vacation. After she's back we will meet regularly.
It's been a year since I've been able to stay home alone. I don't know how to fight this. I feel like the world will collapse on me. That the house will cave in. Or I'll just lose my mind and scream and run outside screaming and saying the world is falling type thing. I don't know how to help myself. I'm to scared to even try to be alone. I have to have my son 18 stay home with me or my aunt stay with me when my son does leave. It's horrible. I feel like I'm holding my son back from so much. I don't know how to beat this. Please help
