You can’t control your feelings. When you try, OCD really jumps in. OCD also makes you notice things that other people would ignore. My therapist calls this “magnification” - when your OCD makes a big deal out of something normal.

I suffered from rOCD a couple of months ago until my boyfriend broke up with me (I now suffer from hOCD and harm OCD). I kept getting these thoughts where I liked these guys like it moved on from one guy to another and sometimes they were just made up by imagination. I felt like I preferred them over my boyfriend. I honestly understand what your going through cause it sounds slightly similar to what I went through. I kept feeling like I only wanted to be friends with my boyfriend and date another guy. Just remember that this is all your OCD. I can see how much you love your boyfriend and I'm sure he loves you a lot too! I would avoid telling him about your OCD thoughts as it might make him worry cause it happened with my boyfriend at the time (he barely understood OCD and what I was going through at all). I would suggest talking to your parents or close friends about it to get it off your shoulders unless you've already done that. I got thoughts too where I thought they weren't intrusive but they were. I hope things will get better soon. We're here if you need to talk

I know 110% my feelings are for my boyfriend and only my boyfriend. And during the attention from this customer drinking I had what I would call Intrusive thoughts but they didn’t feel intrusive as I wasn’t distressed about them until afterwards and now? Not during? So I’m worried that means I could cheat on my boyfriend because of the thoughts in the moment

Ocdcarleigh, thanks for your response. I’m sorry your boyfriend didn’t understand OCD, it just means he’s not the one for you, trust me. I never thought I would find someone who understands me so well as my boyfriend does. You will meet someone who does

I hope so and hopefully by the time then, my OCD won't be so bad as I'm soon getting CBT treatment so I should be able to know how to control all these thoughts after a while. I'm glad that your have a boyfriend that understands you well! Shows that you two and right for each other :)

Thank you ocdcarleigh ❤️ I think the worst part is at the time I was getting the attention from that guy the thoughts didn’t feel intrusive. So to me I then think I could betray my boyfriend when that happens if it’s not until afterwards that the guilt comes in. And during it I was having the thoughts that I shouldn’t of being acting that way yet still did
