I traveled to join my family for christmas but the feelingd that come with SOOCD are soo much stronger around this time of the year + my bf isnt here so I cant get reassurance... its feels like its sooo obvious that Im not straight and I dont know what to do anymore... I dont kmow if you get this feeling of dread also..
Ocd thoughts are like quicksand, the more you struggle against them the deeper you go, the deeper you go the more real it feels. Try not to chase your thoughts for a tangible answer, you won’t get one and you’ll only become more anxious. I’m dealing with the same thing and I’m just trying to past the holiday without imploding
I struggled with SO-OCD for a long time. I still haven't completely kicked the anxiety, but I wanted to share something that helped me a lot. I get the feeling of dread so well, and struggled with SO-OCD around the holidays a lot. I used to look in the mirror and tell myself that I might be bisexual and that was okay. Then, I would tell myself that even if I didn't know my sexuality completely, I loved the person I was with and I was making a commitment to be with them. I began thinking of sexuality as a spectrum that I fell somewhere on. When I started thinking about sexuality as a spectrum, rather than as a specific label that I did or did not fit into, I felt that the dread lessened. I also found that being around family during the holidays heightened my anxiety because I was concerned no one knew who I truly was. To cope with that, I tried to remind myself that my sexuality does not define me as an individual and that regardless of my sexuality I am the same person. I have no idea if this is just OCD and I’m actually just straight or i was in denial my whole life. Now it feels so scary, i feel like im realizing my true self, that ive always been gay, that im just using SO-OCD as a cover up. IT FEELS SO REAL. I even feel like others with SO-OCD dont experience this feeling and i must experience something different. Its literally a feeling like an urge to admit myself that I’m gay and it even feels like i know im gay and i was using OCD as a cover up for 6 years. I cant even describe that feeling. When i try to imagine myself with a girl in my mind it makes me feel like i like that thought like i want it😔 It feels all very very real. I think you guys with SOOCD have different feelings and you actually have OCD. I dont want these thoughts. I dont want to be gay, i dont want to feel this. But maybe i was my whole life in denial. 😭😭
I’m so scared all the time that maybe i am just in denial. The voice started one day and it never leeft. Whenn i was at my happiest in my relationship all i could hear was a voice being like ur a lesbian, u don’t even like men, everything is fake, nothing was real u just didn’t know it. Then we broke up and all the voices went away and i was devastated because i missed him. Fast forward 2 years we made it work again and i was so happy and now i’m happy the voices are back. But when i’m with him they go away a little, i naturally gravitate toward touching him and being around him and being turned on but then when i’m alone my head is like none of it was real, you hated it, you’re a lesbian, you only like women, you’re. not attracted to men anymore. Is this normal for SOCD? or am i just in denial? i’ve only ever dated men, and i’ve really loved my partners, being intimidate has never been hard. I don’t know what to do. It’s all i think about all day when i’m alone.
Been having a hard few days. I’m visiting my long distance boyfriend and have had a lot of rocd thoughts since getting here. I just got this intrusive thought / feeling like I am not in love with him anymore / actually grossed out by him, like I don’t want him to touch me or kiss him. I hate this feeling and I absolutely love physical touch. Trying to picture our future no longer feels right like it used to since this relapse and I am just so worried and don’t know how to stop ruminating today 😣 posting here for some extra support
