low libido

my libido has been extremely low since i started antidepressants about a year ago. if i become aroused, it lasts for a very short amount of time and causes cramp-like pain. i’ve had a bad experience with a tampon that caused me to begin to blackout and almost throw up, and now the idea of penetration makes me extremely anxious and uncomfortable; sometimes it’ll cause me to feel these symptoms. my mom had endometriosis, so i know that i may have that as well, but i want to know if anyone has experienced anything similar.

u should go to a doctor and get checked, i dont have endo but ik it can cause pain like what ur describing. also abt the low libido, people often add wellbutrin onto their ssri to help that

i have extremely low libido as well but i can’t tell if it’s antidepressant related bc i didn’t start having sex until i had already been on them for years! but i feel so guilty i always think my husband is going to leave me because i feel like im failing at my wifely duties. (i have no rational reason to believe that tho) but I’m only aroused for a short time like you and if i miss that window it’s painful to have sex because i’m so dry. it makes me so sad. I talked to my doctor about it once but I downplayed it because i felt embarrassed so I know I should ask again. my husband never makes me feel guilty and totally understands but it’s so hard to deal with

@dan_star I have to use a vibrator basically the whole time to stay lubricated and i’ve started having to make a very strong effort to at least START having sex bc most of the time once we start i feel more into it as long as i don’t get dry. i also found out i get so dry and such low libido when im too anxious or stressed which sucks bc im anxious like 97% of the time even with meds. right after my daughter was born in january i felt like i was on cloud 9, i thought my anxiety was cured and i had much higher libido!! got off my meds living the dream. then we moved 7 hours across the state and bought a dirty fixer upper we can’t even afford and now my anxiety & depression are at an all time high, literally never had it this severe. so now my libido is shot again. so i just force myself to stop saying no to him all the time and again make sure i use the vibrator the whole time 😞

I had something very similar. I was on antidepressants for a while and one thing I noticed and my doctor did confirm was that I was having less natural lubrication because of the medication. So then can come low libido and when you try to insert something like a tampon or your partner for example it’ll feel unpleasant. For me I felt terrible pain because I have a cyst in one ovary. Everyone is different and your pain can be from something different but forsure less lubrication is something I noticed. Also, my dentist said that I was producing less saliva because of the medication. And that’s when a light bulb came on for me to talk to my doctor

Lately i've been having low sex drive and i dont know why. I thought maybe i dont feel attracted to my bf anymore, we have been together for 3 years now and I do love him but this year I felt less "sexually". Quarantine hit me hard the first months with ocd but now i feel better. I started to think that maybe I'm asexual and it makes me sad cause my bf has very high sex drive so I would have to break up with him and I don't want to :( I do masturbate sometimes but I don't feel that sexual attraction towards my boyfriend (or anyone) like the first year. So idk if it is rocd or I'm asexual or just stressed and depressed. It's exhausting

Low libido issues

It’s sad to me that I haven’t been feeling larger amounts of attraction towards my partner recently makes me scared that my fears about not loving him anymore are true. I used to feel like I just wanted to be with him and talk with him a lot but now I feel more like I want to do projects or Art a lot of the time and it makes me worried that something is wrong. When we do engage in sexual activity I feel very not in the moment which is also super upsetting. I just want to go back to how it used to be.

ROCD libido, compulsions

My recent theme with rocd is my sexlife. Sorry if this may be too personal or triggering for some. I try to keep it short. So basically at the moment I have almost no libido. And I catch myself ruminating whether this is normal and if it has something to do with my partner. I start focusing on his imperfections and check my feelings and if I feel aroused. It makes me very anxious. I try to be kinder to myself and not force sex or anything, but for me sex is very important and I would like to have a fulfilling intimacy. Maybe that's why OCD is focusing so much on it. My partner and I had problems with it before because of a sickness he had for a few months. At that time all I wanted was to be intimate and close to him, but it wasn't possible. Now that it is possible I don't want anymore and I feel so frustrated. Maybe I'm stressing myself to much, I also have hormonal problems (PCOS, pms)....any advise on this matter?
