My wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.. I love my daughter but why to I get this harm intrusive thoughts to harm my baby ... Am I mentally going I'll.. I have other symptoms of knifes, machete and sharp objects... Please help iam going insane
Congratulations!! It sounds like OCD tho. Try getting a formal diagnosis, it helps a lot regarding this disorder.
Congrats! It’s because you care about your child. OCD attached to things you care about. I highly suggest seeing an OCD specialist so you can get better.

I’m gonna say the same thing my therapist said to me when I first got diagnosed with OCD after I thought I was truly loosing my mind, “Congrats! You have OCD!” It’s such a terrible thing to have, but if these thoughts scare and upset you, that means that these thoughts are ego-diagnostic, meaning they are the complete opposite of yourself! So you’re not actually crazy, you just have OCD. But, the only way to help your ocd is to get in touch with a SPECIALIZED OCD THERAPIST (here at NOCD or somewhere else) and practice ERP with a licensed professional. These therapists will understand what you are going through and help you not fear your thoughts as much! I hope all goes well for you and I’ll be praying for you 🙏❤️

@chingmai Ironically, I’m going through a spike with my ocd right now 🙄🙄 it sucks and I have the same theme as you!! It’s terrible. But I am able to handle things better. So after going through hell three years ago, I got in touch with a therapist at NOCD and started ERP with stands for Exposure and Response Prevention. This is a solution ocd therapists use to expose you to your fears, starting from the things you fears least (example: watching a video with a knife in it) to something you fear a lot (example: using a knife with someone in the kitchen) the idea of these exercises is to allow you to sit with the uncertainty (I know it sounds crazy) but you are basically allowing your brain to see there is no danger and even though anything is possible, the probability is very low. I am not a licensed clinician in any way, but I have an amateur grasp on some things regarding ocd as I went through ERP. I understand your fear and pain but I promise you can handle this! ❤️

@myfunnyvalentine To be frankfully saying . Iam from a remote state in Nagaland india.. here we don't have that smart ERP therapy just a mental hospital .. I cannot say this to anyone except my wife ... Iam litterly crying from inside.. just wanna scream so hard and cry sometimes .. but just praying it will heal
@chingmai I believe that NOCD therapy is available in parts of Asia. I recommend reaching out to someone on this app rather than going somewhere a therapist will not understand you. My daughter was laying across me and every time I breathed a certain way I was getting a groinal sensation. I kept breathing like that anyways (ugh idk why), and then my mind told me I had a**halted her that I might as well do something else because what's more. So idk why other than the thought doing it but I elbowed her crotch or side area. Which caused another groinal sensation. Then I began FREAKING out. Here I am not sleeping yet again! PLEASE someone tell me if I am a monster. Did I do anything wrong here? Do I need to turn myself in for hurting my daughter? I was doing SO well! What is this?
