ROCD

Hi guys, i struggle with ROCD and i’ve been in a relationship for the past 3 and half years with my bf. Me and my bf had an incident about 2 years ago? where he was watching some *videos*, it wasn’t p*rn, it was just like tik tok videos, and he was open about it, and told me some stuff about his past relationships and how it was normalized, he hasn’t done anything like that since we talked about it, but yesterday i seen that he had looked at this girls page, it was just work out videos, and i asked him about it and he said yes that he did click but immediately clicked off and wasn’t looking for arousal, or anything of that sort, we talked, and he expressed about how he was feeling and i told him how i felt, and we worked on it. But our relationship is perfect and he never makes me doubt his love for me, he’s always so sweet, compassionate and caring, and our relationship is healthy, other than the occasional picture he looks at, but my ROCD is gone nuts. I know guys are gonna look, women do as well, we’re human, but like my ROCD is freaking out

can anyone give me some insite? or any soothing techniques to help? not looking for reassurance just options and tips to help soothe these thoughts

@Rgreen061820 Hey there I know this is awhile after your post but I deal with the same! Personally I’ve had times where I’ll play a video game, watch movies or tv shows and a explicit scene will pop up, I’ll feel some arousal down there of course and I’ll imagine my boyfriend and I doing those things, sometimes they’ve been very weird things. And at times after thinking about my bf and I doing them I’d (yanno the m word) and I’d feel extremely guilty about it afterwards and I’d have anxiety about it for weeks. I’ve discussed it with my boyfriend and we’ve had a laugh about it and it makes me feel better, but still I have some bad days. The best soothing technique I can give you is this. Try to talk with him about it, and tell him how you feel and try to give him some education on your ROCD, I know it can be hard to do that but trust me it can help them see you point of view when dealing with it, I’ve done this with my boyfriend and he knows that I overthink and will let me anxiety get to me at times, and since educating him on this it’s been a lot better!
