Anyone’s compulsion food ? Tips to sit with anxiety instead of eating ?
This was definitely one of mine! Never truly realized it because the “checking “ was such an obvious, disruptive compulsion. It’s great you recognize it❤️. Now I will note that I’m feeling the urge to eat, I will notice if I actually feel hungry, and then I will usually say to myself I will grab some food in a few minutes if I’m truly hungry.
@VGH Thanks !
Hi there. I'm plugging an app called "unstuck." When it comes to my compulsions, it has helped me manage it. It helps me get out my anxiety and as well as peace of mind even just for a while. My OCD keeps flaring up most especially at night when everything's too quiet and dark. That's when my compulsions usually arise. If you check it and try it out, I hope it will be as helpful as it was to me. It's been really life-changing for me to be honest.
@DahliaStranner29 Thanks ! I will take a look 👀
@Pubbywomwom - I hope it helps you!!!<33
Feeling so helpless! This anxiety is causing me to be so stressed to the point where I can’t eat or sleep. I’m so exhausted. Can anyone provide tips on what helps calm you down?
Sitting with a thought, feeling incredibly uncomfortable. The physical effects of not giving into a compulsion are not often spoken about. Nausea, headaches, weakness, rapid heart beat, cold shakes (all a result from anxiety I assume). Any recommendations to aid this? I’m really trying not to give in 😕
Hello! I've been struggling with my anxiety lately to the point where I'm often unable to feed myself enough - then I cycle through being exhausted and unable to think/focus on work, and then more anxious. Does anyone have any strategies? Does trying to eat something small bit by bit help? I'm having a tough time even doing that ...
