i have two dogs, and i love them both so much. but one of them spends more time with me than the other. but that doesn’t mean i love them less. well i was working with one with training, and my mind was like “you don’t love him, you never loved this dog, you hate him, he sucks” i have never EVER felt this way about him. but now i can’t be near him without thinking i secretly hate him, but i don’t. i love him so much
OCD attacks the things you care about, it's the only way it can get a reaction out of you. Every time you give into it, the thought gets stronger. You don't need to reassure yourself that you love your dog, you know you do.

From this post I can actually tell you love him very much! Here’s why: OCD intrusive thoughts/feelings/sensations/urges are “ego-dystonic” meaning they are literally the polar opposite of who you are as a person. This is why OCD is SO distressing for someone to go through; the lies created in your head are personally tailored to be a contradiction to who you are. Never forget that these intrusive thoughts and feelings (no matter how convincing) are still just a symptom of the disorder and not you. Just as someone would have an upset stomach with the flu, you have intrusive experiences with your OCD. Hang in there!🖤
@OCD_warrior thank you for always having good advice. it truly means a lot to me. this disorder is so draining. i miss when it didn’t consume my everyday life. but i know im not alone, and thats what makes me feel reminded, that we can get through this 🩷
i wake up with bad racing and intrusive thoughts. had a super bad one about hurting my dog and now i’m having a hard time being around her. i’m so sad
was hugging my cat and she got annoyed and meowed and i got sad and thought how could anyone hurt any animals then i start getting thoughts like u want to hurt one u want to really hurt one even ur own cats and it made me scared but i have little anxiety it made me sad tho. when i was little i had kicked my dog and that came up in my memories and now im scared i will hurt my pets. when i was younger i was weird and i have memories spaced out of me doing weird/bad stuff that i would never do now but it makes my ocd worse. I hate this :(
I was just petting my dog and I had an almost vision of jamming my thumbs into his eyes and I literally can't look at him right now I'm so scared because he's so much smaller than me and weaker than me and I don't want to hurt him at all and I'm still so new to this world of ocd and I've never had this type of intrusive through before
