Obsessed with mental disorders

Kinda really anxious because I am afraid I might have borderline personality disorder, except I constantly am afraid that I might have mental disorders that I’m not diagnosed with. Wondering if other people with OCD deal with themes of obsession over mental disorders. Or if this is borderline personality disorder, and instead I am creating different personalities based on different disorders I keep thinking I have. I have been diagnosed with OCD but in my comments it was mentioned that I showed some symptoms of OCPD and BPD but not enough to diagnose

I also experience this, I think that if you’re questioning having BPD, you should look into autism and adhd symptoms first, since in most cases BPD stems from childhood trauma experienced by audhd individuals. I’ve also questioned whether I have BPD for a while, fence riding based on whether I feel like I experience enough symptoms to be valid, and I’ve landed on the conclusion that regardless of what disorder I actually have, a professional can discuss my symptoms and fears with me and give a more conclusive answer that may help to soothe my anxiety and quell the obsession. OCD often accompanies autism and adhd, which if you relate to the symptoms of one of these, you’re likely to have both! You’re not alone in the spiraling thoughts, narrowing it down to root disorders such as autism helped me to overcome some of that anxiety and self-doubt. Hope this helps!

Oh yeah this was one of the first OCD themes I struggled with. I still struggle with this sometimes, but at the end of the day I remind myself that it doesn’t matter if I have enough symptoms to qualify for a diagnosis or not. As long as it’s not dramatically impacting my life to the point where I can’t ignore it, then it’s easier for me to just dismiss the obsessions as intrusive thoughts and move on

Does anyone else obsess over whether or not they have OCD? I noticed that I’ve been compulsively taking screening tests and sort of ticking off popular themes I’ve had to prove to myself that I’m not a faker.

I need to know if someone else experience this because I think this may be the root of some of my ocd themes. So basically even when I don't really have a theme going on I get intrusive thoughts of different topics. For example if I'm reading an article about a person with ADHD my mind tells that maybe I have adhd and because if I had I'd be different, and it feels like I want to even though I don't do because I know how destressing it is to live with such disorders and who would ever want to develop a disorder like that. I get intrusive thoughts like about illnesses, identities and other things and my mind says that I have to have those things because they would make me different and my mind wanted me to be different in that way. And it felt like I wanted those things even tho I know how terrible they affect people and didn't really wanted to have them. Now it tells me the same thing about gender and sexuality that I have to be different in that way while I don't and it's causing me hocd right now. I guess this is my final answer but I wanted to know if somebody else experienced something like this. Like sometimes I get depressive episodes because of my anxiety and ocd but once I became obsessed with the idea of having chronic severe depression and I got so anxious but then felt relieved when I didn't but then my intrusive thoughts would pop up here and there

Worried OCD might be on to something

I'm trying hard not to ask for reassurance here, but I'm in need of some advice. I know that I've been diagnosed with OCD, and I'm fairly confident that I've dealt with it consistently over my life. The theme has changed over time, and my current theme is being concerned that I may have narcissistic personality disorder. While I know that this obsession with NPD is a product of OCD, I also can't help but feel that I match so many of the symptom critera that it may be something worth looking into and working on. As you might expect though, this is kind of a huge conundrum, because searching for an actual diagnosis or talking to a psychotherapist might make my OCD about the topic even worse, or even if I get through ERP and then look for a diagnosis, it may cause me to relapse. I guess I'm just wondering what I should do about this. Should I just live with the doubt forever? If I do, would I be putting others at risk? What if there are actual things I need to work on, and by not seeking NPD specific treatment, I'll never get better? Should I work through ERP first and only then start thinking about this stuff? Or should I just not seek these answers out period? Again, trying not to ask for reassurance. I guess I'm wondering what y'all would do if you were in this situation.
