Is anyone else experiencing pregnancy-related OCD symptoms?

I feel like I dont see a whole lot about this specific type of ocd so I just wanted to see if anyone else out there has this same issue! I constantly fear that I am pregnant even if there is absolutely 0% chance that I could be. Im a very safe and cautious person and still I have taken more pregnancy tests than any person I know. I will stare at a clearly negative pregnancy test for like 15 minutes trying to see if i somehow missed the second line on the test. I will even send pictures of the test to other people to make sure they only see one line too. this truly causes me so much distress. ocd sucks.

I went through something like this when I was 22- it went away after a while but I understand where you’re coming from! I would go through so many pregnancy tests and take plan b unnecessarily! And make myself so anxious I would throw up!

Yes yes yes!!!!! I went through an episode of this about 2 years ago. It was triggered when the protection (condom) failed. I ended up getting a false positive pregnancy test then got a blood test. Even when all blood tests and urine tests were negative and even after ultrasound I was convinced I was pregnant. Idk how it faded but for a time I thought I was pregnant no matter what. I was relating every symptom I had to pregnancy. You’re not alone!

I totally had this! This was a bad theme because I was convinced that pregnancy would ruin my life. The checking, researching and the number of pregnancy tests I took (not to mention the pictures to “make sure” they were negative). Totally a real theme

My OCD gives me this constant fear that I could be pregnant even though I have never had sex. When I’m with my boyfriend and I’m in his lap and we’re doing nothing but kissing I am afraid that sperm is somehow going to get near me and can get me pregnant, even with 4 layers of clothes between us. It’s very frustrating, especially since I know it’s impossible. The what if’s just make me miserable.

Pregnancy

Hey everyone, I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm very worried as I have harm ocd and pocd! I'm also worried because I get insomnia really bad and my mum had post natal psychosis. Has anyone here had post natal psychosis but got through it at home without help? I'm wondering what my options are I wouldn't cope in a clinic if I got that. I had a nightmare last night that I was sectioned. Also has anybody else got such bad insomnia yet you've had a kid? Has anyone had pocd yet getting through that with a kid? This pregnancy was planned and my partner is so happy, but I'm literally so terrified

OCD and Pregnancy

Hi! I have OCD and am thinking about starting a family. I have been married for a few years (through some pretty sever ROCD) and starting a family has come up more than once. Every time our “this is when we will start” time comes around I have a HUGE spike in OCD including ROCD and OCD around having sex with my husband. I have a history of sexual assault, but that’s another story. ANYWAY…I was wondering if there are any folks on here with OCD and thinking of having children, pregnant, or went through it all with OCD. Really just looking for community and any resources that might have helped you- books etc. I am in therapy and on medication so really looking for anything supplementary. Thanks for reading!
