These people make these videos without taking into account the fact that there are people suffering with ocd about being transgender. They don't even know that's a real thing most likely. Checking these videos and searching for any pointers to an answer is so useless cuz if they say "Signs that you are trans: you don't have TOCD" you still wouldn't believe it.

Good point. If you worry about this type of stuff, keep away from these videos (which is the mistake I made...) because if you relate to at least one of the things on the video you will be spun into a panic attack.

As a trans person, let me put this to bed for you. We have a huge huge huge issue in the trans community of people brainwashing non-trans people into thinking they're trans. Mental health professionals are there to assess and diagnose gender dysphoria yet these self-proclaimed online experts think that it's their job to convert the world into a load of trans people. Some moron online reading a script from Tumblr about "gender theory" will have no idea whatsoever what they're talking about. The word "trans" has become meaningless now, since everyone seems to "identify" as trans despite barely fitting the medical criteria. People who are trans 9 times out of 10 will know about it since childhood. People like to scapegoat and pretend that they're depression is "trans" or whatever the latest trendy "symptom" is. My advice is do not listen to self proclaimed trans activists online. They're usually not even trans themselves.

Thanks for saying this. Nowadays we’ve got this new thing like girls will identify as boys because they liked having short hair. Even worse are the people who say “you don’t need dysphoria to be trans uwu” because in my opinion you do need dysphoria to be trans. I have trans OCD and I am quite young (age 15) and it’s really difficult. It’s getting better but I still wish I didn’t have this. I’ve heard that about 80% of teens who claim to be trans grow out of it (idk if it’s true but sounds fair enough). Being trans is like the new being bi. It’s like a trend. I made the mistake of telling some people I was trans in the past as some weird, sick attention seeking method. I was younger and didn’t understand better and it really fucks me up now. The lady in the video that I was watching is a cis woman btw and I doubt she was a professional

@Anonymous I agree. I never thought about gender because i never really thought about it, but i do agree somewhat. GD usually comes around childhood, very rarely later in life.

Compulsion, unfortunately. But I’m working on it! :)

Maybe you are like me? I don't really identify as trans... But I don't really identify as anything. It's just that nothing fits my perception of myself. I'm just... me. If I call myself a woman, I'm still me. If I call myself a man, yup, still me! Nothing would change. Ideally my body would be more androgynous but it's not causing me distress to look at myself in the mirror.

Maybe! I know that you don’t have to identify as anything but I can’t let the thought go because of tocd. In the past I did some stupid shit that may be proof to me being trans but really I don’t have any distress looking at myself. If anything, I’ve always been vain in front of a mirror lol
