NO MINORS i was on the subway and there was a baby in a stroller. i thought "cute :)" while looking at him and had a groinal response that felt good. i had no intrusive thoughts, nothing, just that feeling. what does that mean, it's not even the first time, why does this always happen around children
Once I had a groinal from hearing someones name (someone I have false attraction OCD about) and it set me off in a spiral because I thought “well I didn’t actually have a sexual intrusive thought for my body to mistakingly react to, it just happened as a response to hearing a name so how is that possible” because most of the info from OCD professionals talks about groinals being in response to sexual intrusive thoughts so I panicked that mine could be different Thing is now I think it is likely that when you are dealing with pocd or false attraction ocd your brain knows that and there is nothing stopping it causing a groinal without you having an initial thought to activate it, it could be in response to your subconscious anxiety which could be triggered by witnessing the thing you have OCD about, it could be misfiring signals without you being aware of it. Also it could be a form of intrusive thoughts in itself, i’m pretty sure OCD can cause intrusive feelings or sensations
Calico is right, OCD can not only cause intrusive thoughts, but emotions, sensations, urges, etc. actually anything your conscious and subconscious mind has access to and also be used by OCD to taunt you. My obsessions/intrusions barely every pop up as thoughts, but mostly as images, short clips, urges, or physical sensations, such a groinal responses. "... @Zoë_84 Can I tell you my experience and you tell me your thoughts? I have always been careful about interacting with people and especially children who were younger than me. One time when I was a teen I found a boy attractive and then I found out he was 12 or 13, significantly younger than me at the time. I immediately was horrified and shut any feelings I had down completely. After this I began being hyperaware of people’s ages, not letting myself find someone attractive until I know their age and things like that. so about 3 weeks ago i was scrolling on tiktok, and there’s this video of a kid who looks very similar to my current crush (whos my age). my stomach has this funny feeling, and immediately start having a little panic attack and close the app. i KNOW im not a P. i KNOW the person i am, my morals, my beliefs and i think thats why i didnt become extremely panicked and scared and s***c*dal compared to how i would have 2 weeks ago. but then i became panicked about not being panicked, which led to me thinking okay what the fuck, maybe i am a horrible person? even though i know im not? and basically felt horrible and disgusting. Since this experience, I experienced the feeling again when I saw a person (a young girl) wearing earrings similar to my crush. The thing is, I had this feeling before I even registered that the person in the video was a child. So I was pretty sure this feeling I felt was not an indicator of attraction. So my OCD in regards to this theme was getting better in some ways. I was having some intrusive thoughts and doing mental compulsions, but I wasn’t letting them affect me as much. But recently, its flared up again. I was watching a video where Alegra Kastens said “some p*d*s dont like being p*d*s” and i immediately was like, oh god, is that me? and for the past 2 days all i’ve been able to think about is this. i feel so horrible im almost convinced i am a P. i have to keep telling myself that i’ve never done anything inappropriate nor had urges to do anything inappropriate with a minor. i cant even tell my intrusive thoughts from my own thoughts or mental compulsions anymore. Idek what im asking you for lol. What are your thoughts? Is this even ocd or general anxiety?
@girlsoconfusin You are asking for reassurance, which is a compulsion and as such fuels OCD. I know, that the following is hard to "hear" and even harder to do, but what helps against OCD is not ruminating on past events and to answer any intrusion with "Maybe, maybe not." and going about your day. Also, if I told you "Nothing you mentioned is an indicator of you being a paedophile. You are of course not a paedophile! It's only OCD!" I am sure your OCD would come up with some more intrusive thoughts, e.g. "Did you tell her everything? Maybe you didn't and she only came to the conclusion, that you are not a paedophile, because you omitted crucial information?" OR "Who is she to tell? She neither knows you, nor what's going on in your head." OR "That is one opinion, but maybe others evaluate what you told her differently. Better ask other people about their opinion!" etc.

@Zoë_84 okay. what do i do then? i can’t do anything else except ruminate. the few moments that i am focusing on something else, im having constant thoughts that im a P and that i don’t deserve to feel happiness. i feel guilt. i’m even having thoughts trying to justify what happened which scares me even MORE. genuinely what do i do??? please be completely honest. idk what’s happening
@girlsoconfusin The problem with OCD is that ruminating, or applying logic is not going to help. I have been there and it only made it worse. What helps against OCD is totally counter intuitive and extremely hard to do. 1.) Stop ruminating, as OCD will never be happy with the answer you give it. It always has an "Are you 100% sure?" up it's sleeve. 2.) Replying you your intrusions with "Maybe I am a p, maybe I am not." teaches your brain, that the intrusions are neither relevant, nor dangerous. Over time the intrusions get less and the anxiety goes down. Also, by answering maybe you accept ancertainty, which is something OCD doesn't like. That being said, answering "Maybe" to your intrusions doesn't mean you agree with them. After all, OCD is ego dystonic.

@girlsoconfusin If you, not your OCD, agreed with the intrusions you wouldn't feel horrible and you wouldn't add a crying emoji, would you?

17f I was taking a bus and there was a group of children taking it too, like a kindergarten group. I tried to find a place where I thought children are not going to sit but one sat next to me anyway And the thing is that when I need to pee I become a bit physically aroused? Idk I've googled it and it's not that uncommon. Also the vibration from the bus gives me a bit of a groinal response yk since I sit on a seat which vibrates I mean I wasn't even really aroused that much it was a light sensation which was easy to ignore because I was on my phone But im scared I'm like a predator or something cause I didn't leave the bus immediately and had a groinal response when the kid was next to me I dont worry that it was the kid who was the reason of it (I mean not yet maybe I will freak out about it later) I'm just scared it's not appropriate to feel something like that while im next to a child even if he is not the reason of it But I tried to just ignore it and thought that I'm probably being dramatic After couple stops I got too anxious and got off the bus to wait to the next one which I hoped is not going to be full of kids But I'm scared that I'm a bad person and a sexual predator cause I didn't leave immediately after I had this thoughts While writing this post I got on another bus and sat at a seat but there js a child on the bus too not next to me but still not that far from me but I'm scared because of social anxiety people will look at me weirdly if I randomly change seats after I already sat but at the same time what if I'm being a pervert Like I don't even see the kid and stuff but still I'm scared am I a pervert or something Like is it predatory to be aroused near a child? Like the child is not the reason of it, u just are, and I wadnt purposely making myself aroused I just couldn't really help it But maybe I should've left the bus immediately? I mean I did but only after a couple stops because I thought that maybe is not that much of a big deal and I'm being dramatic
Does anyone else when they have the thoughts, they feel against it, but they still get arousal or tenglings sensations in the groinal area? Because this is what I experienced today and I feel like crap. This is going to be very triggering for a lot of you, but there are a lot of times that I notice things from kids. For example, there is a thirteen year old kid who looks very developed for her age, and I take notice of (and this already sounds creepy to me) her chest. Today with my thoughts, I imagined as if I were touching it, and although I usually "no no or "I don't want to do that", she is a kid, etc., I still get responses in my groinal area, and It felt very real. Even now, I feel as though I am faking it, even though I groan 😮💨 from it, and feel as though I am a fraud. Does anyone relate?
hi does anyone ever get a random grounal response then feel aroused but you don’t want to be like before i had the thought i was feeling a little aroused then i had a random thought and it had the ground response and i felt aroused i don’t understand.
