SOOCD

Tell me about it. I am so tired myself. Everyone also has their own definitions of sexuality and when you have religious and cultural reasons preventing you from understanding, it further complicates things. I will be honest, I want to be straight but I am trying to have honest conversations with myself and my OCD therapist about this. It does however it this point feel like denial for myself but I don't know, I am over it though and life doesn't feel worth living (don't worry, I am not doing anything). I wish you healing girl, it's hard.

I couldn't even go out of my room because if SO-OCD, I couldn't listen to music, watch movies, scroll on social media or even do chores or go out but guess what..I never thought I would get better but I went out today and the discomfort is less..I would not say it's gone but it's way less and has less impact+ meds help with the intrusive thoughts but you have a part to play in getting better...I remember whenever the psychiatrist told me "you also have a part to play by doing erp" and I would go like "I don't even have strength to play that part😂😓I only have energy to get through the day"... I'll tell you one thing, getting better is stressful(the process is) but the results you would start seeing, the mental clarity and how grounded you'll feel is definitely worth it...I attempted suicide because the intrusive thoughts wouldn't stuff(like if I was gay like it said, at least let me even get sleep) I realised that soocd clouds perception but it didn't make me gay or any because I've always been straight(so-ocd never leads to self discovery because it about an imagined reality; go and look for icbt for soocd) that was an eye opener... soocd keeps us in a cycle of obsessional doubt. It's not reality; I'm sure you would go like but it feels real...ocd would feel as real as it can get😃(that's what makes it a disorder)...erp is the holy grail. It works..see so-ocd as a theme of ocd not a change of sexuality or any ...the better you get, the more you realise the actual reality you ignored as you focused on ocd imaginal and obsessional doubts.

Yes, there would be urges that would make you panick(they're making you panick because they are not your desires 😀), sensation or groinal response would be there... ignore it...that your nervous system misfiring(pathways for anxiety and arousal are very similar)stop compulsions (it worsens ocd) I have tried to see if compulsions and reassurance would make me better but no amount of reassurance is enough for soocd (just like other ocd themes) I have done plenty compulsions but it worsened...I do little to no conscious compulsions and it gets wayyyy better
