dont listen to chatgpt or any ai for advice, especially not for your mental or physical health. ai is most of the time a total crapshoot that spews misinformation
Ah the common Chat GPT compulsion! Well, Chat GPT is not a human, it doesn't know your life story or your Ocd history, and Chat GPT is often inaccurate. It's never a reliable source to use for anything

@Lost in the sauce - I understand :) but Chat GPT is not a "him," as its not a real person, its only an automated robot. It doesn't actually know who you are, friend. This robot feeds you responses based on random info it finds on the internet. It easily misdiagnoses people, as it probably has already with you by saying you don't have sexual orientation Ocd. Chat GPT also is not up to date on research in general and it can't even solve a lot of math problems lol. AI also creates images of people with 7 fingers on one hand š You shouldnāt trust these newly created technologies for important medical issues

@Ms.shelovesfrogs The thing is im not diagnosed with ocd. But yes previously i would have debilitating health anxiety. And idk if ROCD or just im not straight. As for my story i just posted in in my feed if u d like to check it.
Comphet is a term that I feel has been taken completely out of control in our culture. Iām queer and bi, and I understand why the term got created (emphasis on *created*) in order to help a population of people understand painful experiences of falling into societal expectations. However, once we start trying to dissect our own motivations and label our behaviors and desires as not our own, you can spend your entire life analyzing yourself instead of living your life and accepting some gray area. Like sure, maybe we got tricked into being bisexual instead of lesbian because of media and because no one else in my family married someone of the same sex. But also, maybe I never would have started drinking coffee if caffeine dependence wasnāt so normalized in our culture. Maybe if I decide that caffeine is making my life worse, I can stop drinking coffee. But I donāt need to write a history book on the coffee bean trade and read peopleās horrific experiences about caffeine dependence and withdrawal on Reddit for hours in order to try to figure out where my dependence on caffeine really came from. Do I like drinking coffee? Yeah, it tastes good. (Also idk if this is a great analogy because I drink coffee like 3-4 times a week lol) All Iām saying is if comphet is something that feels empowering to your experience and motivates you to think deeper in a meaningful way, amazing. If itās something that feels like the biblical template you must project onto your experience in order to try arrive at the ācorrectā conclusions about yourself, I think this is doing more harm than good. And perhaps itās not even the point of the existence of this idea in the first place. And itās perfect fodder for OCD.
I was trying not to think abt it and honestly inwas doing a great job until a woman came on my fyp on tiktok and said āif u think women are objectively more attractive u re not straightā and now iām so anxious and distressed and am scared i might be comphet. When i was little i remember being obsessed with the āi cant remember to forget uā mv so i rewatched it and thought it was sensual but nothing more. Idk. She also said that if u use a fantasy to get arroused around men u might not like them. Idk anything anymore Im so tired
I cant afford therapy which is why iām not diagnosed with ocd. The first time i had heard what ocd was truly abt was 6 years ago when i overthinking my sexual identity and it fit. Additionally, i struggle with debilitating health anxiety and when i was in a rlt i was extremely anxious that i might not love my partner. This is the third year i experience distress around my sexuality but this year it feels real. And it could also explain my rlt anxiety. Comphet is a concept that really scares me. I dont want to be with a girl. I would rather die than discover i was lesbian. I cant accept uncertainty cz i dont want to be homosexual. Chat GPT told me it wasnt ocd + the thoughts dont distress me anymore. I experience 3 intense weeks of anxiety prior to now. Maybe its internalized homophobia. Maybe its comphet. I do find women to be attractive but i dont wanna be with them. Maybe iām in denial. Idk anything anymore. Iām remembering times where i would find an actress attractive and try to shift my focus towards the man cz it would make me anxious. Iām not well at all.
signs of comphet (comphet is when lesbians who donāt know it and just follow norms and believe there straight) ive felt: āI never really felt anything when kissing boys and totally thought that was normalā¦ I talk to men, go on dates, but I think itās to keep my life āinterestingā and have something to talk about with friends.ā ā¢ lack of deep, natural emotional connection ā¢ trying to replay moments where i āfeltā something with my boyfriend (probably arousal or excitement from being wanted, not actual sexual/romantic attraction) to again remind myself of my āattractionā towards themā¢ talking about my boyfriend to other people made me feel ācoolā, āworthyā, āinterestingā and felt like a way to prove myself ā¢ being able to clearly articulate all the reasons I liked a guy crush/my boyfriend (heās smart, funny, kind, handsome, etc) whereas with a girl crush I canāt exactly put my finger on why I like them but Iām just naturally drawn to them ā¢ never missing my exes or feeling heartbroken about them (i would feel sad from being lonely and no longer having that daily routine of having someone to talk to, but didnāt necessarily miss that specific person) ā¢ i was always very hesitant about ābecoming officialā with a guy i would be seeing and would make him wait before deciding to date because i ādidnāt know if i really liked him or notā (i didnāt!) only being aroused by their desire for me (this is what made me figure out I was a lesbian). ā¢ Thinking I was cooler than other girls because I didn't spend any time thinking about how cute boys were or being "boy-crazy". I was under the impression for a while that I must just be less shallow than other people because I didn't really take looks into account when I had a crush on a boy, I only factored in their personality. Turns out this is called not being attracted to men and just wanting to be their friend! XD iām scared my experiences with men have been only comphet because they all align with this. like when i had my hocd break for two years and went back to men it aligns with comphet so now im like was me going back to men not genuine and im actually lesbian. but itās like have i been emotionally or romantically actually attracted to a man or has it been comphet and i havenāt and i just did it because i thought i should like my sister or friends
