I’m not familiar with tarot cards. But it sounds like you were looking for reassurance or certainty. Even if the cards gave you the answer you were looking for, it’s very likely the doubt would come back. Certainty is not possible in life in general, or with OCD. There’s always room for doubt. Give yourself time to rest. My advice is to lean into the doubt, accept that you have uncertainty, and work on resisting the urge for those kinds of compulsions. ERP therapy will give you the tools to do so.

Tarot cards cannot give you the certainty you are seeking unfortunately 😞 Sorry you are struggling with this theme. It is a very tough one. Have you tried replying to your thoughts by saying “maybe, maybe not”?

Hey, I have OCD and I love tarot cards, but sometimes I have to take a break from them because using them can become a compulsion. Our minds are powerful things, and tarot cards are open to a variety of interpretations that our OCD can take and twist into unpleasant things. I would recommend not doing a reading when you’re experiencing a flare up, and to not take anything you did read to heart when you did a reading with a flare up. I tell myself that it wasn’t a genuine reading if my headspace was being driven by my mental illness rather than a healthy desire to engage with spirituality. Also, BIG AGREE with the above comment to not use Chat GPT with OCD. It’s a recipe for spiraling.

i love tarrot cards personally, but i wouldnt use them if its for a kind reassurance, if thats what youre looking for. if youre up here trying to get help, then theres an answer youre not a p. i also wouldnt use chatgpt as its very misleading with questions with feeling and thoughts involved because well, its AI, and it tries to answer to those kinds of questions to appeal to the user.
