I can't stop confessing! I have this urge to dump on him every thought and wrong doing I've ever had and its destroying me! Im worried it'll destroy us too. When we started dating I stole a story from a friend to make myself look cool which was pathetic. But its the only time I remember doing anything like this.
Hello: The key is, DO NOT confess and sit with the discomfort. I know that is not what you want to hear but, the more you confess, the greater your urge to confess will be. I aliken it to trying to fill a hole in the sand with water and the more water you put in the hole, it just keeps washing down and needs more water. You in essense "feed your OCD obsession" every time you continue to confess when you feel the urge to. When you STOP and do not feed it, it may take a little time of sitting in anxiety BUT the anxiety will go away COMPLETELY without confessing and not seem to come right back a short time later. I know this is hard to do and that it is not a simple task to do by any means, but it works. It is the ONLY thing that really works and feeding the obsession by doing the compulsion no matter how good it feels at first, only leads to MORE compulsion. Take care. Dr. Crants
I already confessed š. I guess I'll try again next week. It happens where I remember some embellishment or white lie and I just HAVE to tell him. Then my heart races and my vision goes blurry
He thinks im subconsciously pushing him away because I don't feel good enough for him. And I think he's right.

Iām having the need to confess that I was unfaithful to my girlfriend (even though I was not) because I drank too much Saturday night and donāt remember every single second from my evening. My OCD immediately goes to that I cheated on my girlfriend and I need to confess my sins. I know itās only OCD, but the thoughts are extremely strong. Any suggestions? Thank you, community.
When I talk about how terrible I used to be to my girlfriend it makes me feel like Iām gonna do it again which I donāt wanna do and it scares me and then I get intrusive thoughts and feelings about it doing it but I donāt want to, weird I know.
I understand trying to find comfort in your thoughts but what can i do if i canāt keep these thoughts to myself sometimes?
