Interpreting “do not fear”
I’ve heard some people say that “do not fear” is a biblical command, and therefore anxiety is a sin against God because you’re not fully trusting Him. The irony of that is, them saying that made my anxiety even worse because now according to them, I’m sinning. But I’m wondering, does the “do not fear” thing really interpret as, “it’s okay, you don’t have to be afraid, everything is going to be okay”. And it’s also made me realize thinking “do not fear” as a callous command (as I inaccurately grew up viewing it) has the same energy of telling an angry person to “calm down”. You can’t just switch anxiety off. So what do you guys think on this subject?
