Speechless

Never thought I would make it to this point! It’s been a goal of mine ever since starting NOCD. This doesn’t mean the work or the difficult days are over, but it’s impressive to see how far I’ve come! Going from a point of feeling no hope to this…. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it feels! I want to thank God and my therapist Kayla Cumberland, the two who without them, I wouldn’t have gotten through this. I also want to thank myself, for staying strong and resilient, even when it felt so close to the end. These are the days I prayed for! Thank you!

Congratulations on coming so far! How do you earn OCD Conqueror? I've seen that on here, and it sounds wonderful, but I don't know exactly what it means.

@Amy B. Thank you! I believe you earn it once your OCD symptoms start to decrease at least by 50% and you’re putting in the hard work and dedication in therapy sessions. I hope you reach that goal one day! It’s possible! Good luck to you!

@Amy B. My therapist told me it happens when you get two DOCs scores below certain numbers back to back.

When others say they had no hope I take it as hyperbole but when someone w ocd says it - it’s for real. So so happy for you! Jesus is so good

Congratulations! You have done the hard work to get here and your therapist gave you the tools to conquer. You are in the driver's seat now. Keep up the "innoculations" (exposures) so OCD doesn't try to sneak in and enjoy your freedom! Great work! It is a liberating feeling!

@Anonymous What I learned when getting into looped thinking is to make a joke of it. Just laugh it off as if it has no meaning, and that takes away its power. Also, saying to yourself “maybe, maybe not I don’t know the future” has helped me as well. We will never be able to control or determine the future, so don’t sweat it too much. Hope this helps!

@Philipp2024 I have always struggled with giving props and compassion to myself, so I’m working on that. It definitely takes the work and effort from ourselves to make it possible!

That sounds awesome how many times a weak do u do your sessions I’m going once every two weeks it’s not enough though

@erlm I stared out at twice a week, which is recommended. Once I showed at least a 50% decrease in my symptoms, I went down to once a week. I would definitely book more sessions if possible!

I am happy for u happy there is hope do u have any advice since i didnt start yet bcz where i live to good therpest also i cant book in the app any advice u give me bcz its been so hard since i struggle with religious ocd
