Zoloft has been great for me so far! I just want to remind you that medication can help a bit but erp is what really helps the most .
@httpet for sure! meds are more like a tool
What medication are you currently on? And what have you tried?
I’m on Luvox and it’s not working I’m on 200 mg. And I have tried Lexapro
@GJ7 Okay so all medications are hit or miss. Zoloft is good for some people and is used for OCD, but it didn’t work for me. I can’t take certain medications cause my serotonin receptor is like, broken lol. I would definitely try Zoloft, and if it doesn’t work for you, maybe switch it up. Try an SNRI like Trintellix. I know quite a few people (including myself) who are taking it for OCD & Anxiety.
@offbrandlesbian Yeah I’m definitely going to give it a try! The only thing I’m not sure of is how do I know it’s working? Like I still have bad anxiety so I guess it’s not?
@GJ7 You know your body. It’s instinctual. You’ll know it’s working if it works. And if it doesn’t, and you’ve even tried upping the dose, then on to the next. Some medications you can even start feeling things within the 2nd week. It’s a journey, but you’ll figure it out. Don’t forget to celebrate small achievements. Whether it’s as showering or hanging out with friends, it’s progress.
@offbrandlesbian Thank you! I’ve been on Luvox for 3 months and it hasn’t done much so I think it’s time to change it.
@GJ7 I would say so! And who knows, maybe the next thing you try you’ll notice even more of a difference.
@offbrandlesbian I hope so!
@GregJ did u ever find a medicine that helped you? if so what did it end up being
@ashcash Yes it took a few. I take a few medications but it really depends on the person. Prozac has helped a lot
@GregJ how many di you have to try before finding out prozac was good for u? also if u dont mind sharing in what specific ways it helps!? im currently about to start that journey myself
@GregJ also i appreciate you responding!
@ashcash It took me about 4 different medications but everybodys body reacts differently. There have definitely been people that have had their first medication work well. Just try to be patient and work with your doctor. The medication makes me care less about the thoughts. It’s hard to describe but they don’t bother me as much. I don’t get panicked by them anymore and I can more easily brush them off.
@GregJ thats really good im glad! how would you say theyve affected your mood and last question what dose are you on? ik often people with ocd require high doses
@ashcash I take stuff for my mood too. I have depression as well. I take 80mg of Prozac
@GregJ ahh like a mood stabilizer for mood?
I love Zoloft! I’m on 75 mg and have been for about 4 months! Been very helpful!!!
@lilmissocd thats really good! in what ways?
I’m working with a new psychiatrist for medication. She suggested both prozac or luvox. wondering what has worked for people or any suggestions
Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭
I am probably going to start sertraline soon. Does anyone have any experience with this medication?
