No:( It’s convinced me that kissing a boy is gross and kissing a girl isn’t and it makes me sad Cause I don’t want to kiss or be with a girl But I want to kiss and be with a guy and be intimate with one :(

@annehatesocd Are you in therapy with cbt/erp? These thoughts are your OCD,by reacting to your intrusive thoughts it makes them stronger . Have you tried any of the ERP on the app?

@annehatesocd The best way to treat OCD is with cbt and ERP. I really encourage you to get therapy, OCD is a pain trust me I know, but your life can change! You can get better. Also theres a book and TV show called Pure written by Rose Cartwright where she deals with HOCD it might be worth you checking it out!

@annehatesocd I recommend the book brain lock to understand OCD also. Also I recommend following the account OCDRecovery. Its great you want to try ERP I would recommend writing a hierarchy of things you find least to most anxiety inducing and work from there, however it is always always better to do it with a trained professional. The therapy sessions on the app are quite affordable! Listen I know things are scary but things will improve.

@Daffodil And I have a therapist but not an ocd therapist. She is aware of my obsessive thoughts and ocd but I’m just scared she’s going to think it’s internalized homophobia even though I have nothing against people being gay

@annehatesocd Ah I understand! Best thing is to educate yourself on OCD and read up on everything. Can you access therapy elsewhere?

Ah man I use to feel like this and it does get better! Your mind is playing tricks on you and it’s crazy and fucked how our minds can play ticks on us. Stay calm, everything will be okay and stay distracted. Mediate or go to the gym that really helped me!

It feels like such a believable trick and to think that’s my reality causes me so much anxiety. It’s gotten to the point I’m like “fuck you” to the thoughts and doing what I want even if while I’m flirting or liking guys it feels like I’m just in denial. But idk, does that sound like ocd still?

Yes it does sound like OCD! You’re straight alright! You know you’re deep down. Like I said your mind plays tricks and it makes it feel real when really it isn’t. When you stress about something you tend to overthink them and analyse it and it makes it worse. Keep calm. I had HOCD really badly for 3 years when I was younger and I know how you feel! It’s the worse feeling ever. I was scared anxious I had panic attacks and I felt trapped in my thoughts. What helped me was talking to someone who I trusted, or go see a therapist. I go to the gym now and I eat healthy and when I get these thoughts I just say nope not happening and I think about something else.
