OMG! I seriously didnt think anyone had this! So, if I buy something and I am having a bad thought about something while I am buying it, then everything I do after buying it is like cursed or something. I can't do enough or repeat enough, therefore, stay in.

Katie can I ask a question please because it was very confusing one of the members said gay people can get HOCD in terms of scared and don’t want to be Gay have you ever heard of this as he was also saying that P..... can get POCD becaue they are so ashamed and so confusing

I’m bisexual and have ocd about sexuality that I might be straight. Some people can have hocd and be gay, some could not. Does that mean you’re gay? Maybe, maybe not. Same with POCD.

@puzzled_nut What blade is asking is that if a person can think their straight but realize through OCD that they might actually be gay or had been in denial. Again I haven’t heard of that being the case before. People who are straight have OCD about being the opposite of what they are (so gay, bi, pan, w/e). People who are bi worry they might be the opposite (fully straight, fully gay). People who are gay sorry they might be the opposite (straight, bi). Don’t confuse “attractive” and “sexually attractive”. I can look at someone like Brad Pitt and think “Yeah, the dude is attractive and I can understand why girls say he’s hot” but I don’t feel any sexual attraction of “yeah I want to have sexual relations with Brad Pitt because I feel sexually aroused by him”. If as humans we didn’t know what attractive people and unattractive people look like we would be blind and there wouldn’t be a models. Quasimodo if he was a real life person would not be attractive. Ryan Reynolds is an attractive male (dudes handsome, I wish I looked like that). Do I want to sleep with him? Nope. Do I want to be friends and hang out with him or wish I looked like him and had his life? Fuck yeah!

@puzzled_nut Do you mean some people can have HOcD thoughts aboutbthe fear of being Gay and actually be Gay. What do you also mean about the POCD

Meaning...sometimes the thoughts of something bad happening are so intense that I feel if I have that thought and move while thinking that thought, it will happen. I have to keep trying to keep safe thoughts in my head, for example, a thought of a picture of my grandfather or of a apple tree from when I was little. It takes so much energy I cant experience my life. Its easier to not move...?

Blade118...one that is really hard for me is going to a place that is not accessible to me all the time or that is out of my everday activities, for example, a new restaurant, somebody's home, a store, because I cant say to myself, " you can repeat yourself tomorrow. Leave now..." I know I won't be going back to that place tomorrow and that bad thought and energy is left there if I dont do my compulsions...does that make any sense?

I don’t mean this in a bad way but no I don’t understand. You think something bad is going to happen is that what you mean

I have this as well. Mine happen all the time but say I have a bad thought about my nephew dying unless I go back to a restaurant... I’ll be obsessing over going back to that restaurant as soon as I can so he won’t die. Does that sound familiar?

@LolaGirl Ya of course! I haven’t met anyone either who struggles with this

@Chrissyart Not sure if there’s a way to chat 1 on 1 in this app ...?? How long have you suffered from this? Have you found anything helpful?

@LolaGirl I’m not sure either. I was diagnosed since I was 11 and I’m almost 29 now. I’ve had all types of rituals and routines I had to do growing up before school and then as an adult I more just have to constantly be in control of everything I do, say, see, etc. it’s always about keeping my family alive.

@LolaGirl How about you? I’ve been to multiple psychologists and I see a psychiatrist but I still suffer from this daily
- Date posted
- 5y
@Chrissyart Same here actually ... I really remember it starting to affect me around age 11 or 12 and now I’m almost 32 I’ve been to a psychiatrist but never stuck with it for long. I take Prozac as well .. so what are the things you struggle with on a daily basis? If you don’t mind giving an example?

@LolaGirl If I do something and have a bad thought of my mom dying then I have to go back. Right now I’m struggling with one that is causing my depression to arise again. if I don’t go back through a Taco Bell drive thru than my baby nephew will die. It’s so ridiculous but I feel like I’m risking his life each day I don’t just go through the damn Taco Bell but I’m trying to fight these compulsions so I’m in a battle of what to do. Does any of this sound familiar?

@Chrissyart Sounds 100% familiar ... I’m sorry you’re dealing with that right now ... so have you been able to resist going back?

@Chrissyart If you do go back what makes you feel better? Like going through the drive thru and making sure you think a good thought?
