I’ve had this about one event. It sat with it for about three to four months. It’s not easy to have on you constantly. I just had to sit with it. I literally talked to myself ( I know this sounds insane) but I talk through the thought with my self and try to pull the facts. You have to be honest with yourself, even though you just want to give in to compulsions. Maybe writing out your thought process might help. Best of luck!

It’s hard to pull facts from ocd though.. like when I try to make sense of my thoughts and try finding honesty in them it just makes me panic more? my rocd makes me have reaccuring thoughts of my guy friend & that I like him and don’t love my boyfriend, it’s been so long that I’ve had this & when I try to sit with it and try finding honesty in it it makes everything worse..

@Kea Kea, what are you struggling with right now?

@mindfulmang I keep getting reaccuring thoughts that I like my coworker and that he’s a better match for me than my boyfriend. What sucks is that me and him actually became friends and he’s a really cool and funny guy but I’m not even physically attracted to him, it’s his personality that’s nice, but I love my boyfriend and I would never jeopardize my relationship to be with my friend. These thoughts are so scary. I only want my boyfriend and I love him so much. :(

@mindfulmang And this developed fears of talking to any guys because I’m afraid I’m gonna develop crushes and I can never look at them in the eye because I feel like I’m flirting & ugh it’s just the worst

@Kea Maybe triggering so if you're not ready for some ERP stop here.......... OCD has sneaky way of having our thoughts turn into our "truth" I've tried to put mine into perspective and say "well maybe I do have feelings, and maybe I don't. What I value is my relationship with my SO so I will continue loving actions toward my SO even if I don't FEEL that love right now." It's so tricky, have you researched any online about ROCD. I found Mark Freeman to be very helpful and he's really good at videos that aren't heavily reassurance seeking. I also suggest looking to Jazzmin Martinez on YouTube, her story has really helped me. She has also started a podcast called "Frequent Crier Club" it's on Spotify! I hope this helps you

@mindfulmang Yeah, I try but sometimes it’s so overbearing! Thank you so much for the advice, will definitely try it out! & I haven’t come across Mark but I spoke to Jazzmin on Instagram actually about this situation and she’s a sweetheart. I also follow Awaken Into Love which has also helped immensely, Kyomi is the one that helped me figure out that what I really have is rocd by watching her videos. I’ll look into Mark! Thank you!:)

Yes. My rocd has been going on (with the same thoughts) since February, making it 3 months in a couple days. My hocd/tocd has been going on for 4 years. My harm ocd took me 2-3 months to get over, it wasn’t as intense as my other themes. My mental health ocd has been going on for 4 years as well. There’s no time limit on ocd, it sucks

Yeah I agree, but there's one single thought in my head on repeat. I'm just worried it's not ROCD.
