one thing my boyfriend has said to me is if you cant remember it happening or doubt it ever did, you probably didnt do it at all

@elderflower no you are 100% i go through this weekly. one day ill obsess over one thing and work through that then the next day itll be something totally different. ocd deadass sucks and im over it

@elderflower definetly me also. what are some coping mechanisms youve adopted through this process? journaling the thought, meditating, coloring and yoga help me a lot

Thanks for the comments. It’s so hard. I’ve had other themes but this has to be the hardest. It does seem to go from one memory to the next. Sometimes something recent, sometimes something from many years ago. So easy to start ruminating and going down the rabbit hole. Ignoring the thoughts seems counterintuitive when your brains telling you it’s important.

it is really hard fighting the irrational part of your brain. its like fighting with what you know and what you want to believe (but you know if you believe what its saying it wins)

yes i agree 100%. i know in my heart i didnt do something but my brain isnt convinced

It’s difficult isn’t it? Especially when you’re feeling very anxious to see clearly.

Thing is, if I think of a real memory, maybe something that I feel bad about and regret, I don’t doubt it being real or try to prove it wrong so I wonder if the very act of getting anxious and desperate for it not to be true actually proves that it is false ! If that makes sense !
