Well, it’s a long story. I want to become a doctor, so studying is important for me. And yet when I try to study I always find that I am lacking focus. This got me down the rabbit hole of searching for symptoms on the internet and sadly, I discovered that I fit the criteria for ADHD quite well. It’s stressful to me, because I feel like I will never be able to pursue my dream. I will keep you in my thoughts, I hope you get through you ocd struggles! I believe in you!

@Storylovely thank you you too! if you do have ADHD there are medications that seem to work quite well if you want to do that. i’m sure a lot of doctors have ADHD!

Sadly, the thing is that I’m having a hard time discovering what my compulsions are. Maybe it’s not even ocd?

@Storylovely Paying attention to the thought is the compulsion

I’m not diagnosed but I think I have it too. Anytime I experience any type of symptoms of sickness I start googling for hours trying to find and answer and feeling so much anxiety. I would say finding compulsions and cutting them is the way to go.

I’m sorry to hear that :( For me it has come to a point when I wholeheartedly believe everything I think. Stay hopeful! One day we’ll all beat this, I swear!

I do and I had cancer as a child so I have always been concerned about health related things. It was hard for me to tell if it was natural sorry but as I I’ve gotten older I realized I was obsessively googling symptoms .

I hope you’re doing better now! You never really realise it’s OCD until it’s too late, sadly. I find myself in the same situation a lot! Especially when my ocd changes themes. Stay strong, you’ve got this!

Thanks! :) Googling is very unhealthy and can be very misleading. Good thing is, we are not alone in this, many ocd folks share the same issue. Stay strong!

Yes, health ocd here. I was convinced I had ALS, MS, different kind of cancers, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, parkinson's, Narcistic personality disorder, ASP, BPD, Optica Neuritis as part of MS and some more.. You should join a Health Anxiety group in Facebook. There are people who can help people with Health OCD🙂

Hey! I hope you are doing okay! I am in this as much as you are, but we will deal with this. It gets really hard and frustrating at times, but please, never lose hope in yourself! You are worthy of happiness, work towards it! P.S. yeah...even though I have zero reason to be worried about sti’s, they’re a big scare for me too :(

I always want to know what’s wrong do I go to the doctor a lot. It’s not about just googling. I want to know why this hurts or what is this or that? Sometimes there’s nothing wrong. I just gave to know! If I don’t get it checked out, it causes me a great deal of anxiety. I google before and after going to the doctor.

Hi all, As of Monday, I received the diagnosis for Pure OCD during an ADHD evaluation. It came as a bit of a shock, despite knowing my grandpa had OCD (according to my parents and extended family, he passed away before I was born). I'm just a little lost on where to go from here. I'm trying to find a therapist who does both OCD and ADHD, but it's surprisingly hard. Do people typically have different therapists for their different needs? I've mentioned it to close friends and family, and when I've tried to discuss what I'm feeling, they said they do it too to a certain extent which is a little invalidating. Anyway, sorry for the ramble. Would anyone be able to give some advice/supportive words for a newly diagnosed college student? Thanks :)

After my psychiatrist appointments, I can't stop obsessing over whether or not I explained things correctly, or if I exaggerated without noticing? We spoke about the possibility of ADHD today, and after I got home, I kept wondering if I had exaggerated my experiences of struggling to focus, finishing tasks, feeling paralyzed when I want to get things done, etc... This is how I felt when I got diagnosed with anxiety and OCD, though. It's just sort of stressing me out 🫠 Has anyone dealt with similar?

My current obsession is around mental health, specifically that I have undiagnosed Bipolar 2. Any changes in my mood are triggering and in my compulsive googling to make myself feel better (never works lol) I discovered that ocd and bipolar are linked in like 10-20% of cases?! So now I feel worse. Anyone else experience mental health fears?
