Yes. I am a 15-year-old girl who suffers with POCD. I get intrusive thoughts of harming children sexually and it makes me feel terrible. However I have started to acknowledge that these thoughts mean absolutely nothing because I know in my heart I would never do such a thing. I found God and I lift up my troubles to him every night. He has truly helped me and He continues to do so.

So does it feel like you really wanted it? That's what scares me most and I've never been offically diagnosed either so that scares me that its not really ocd. I also have found God! Jesus is what gets me through! I know he forgives me even if that was true about and that's all that gives me hope

@anyonymous Yes, OCD intrusive thoughts actually make you genuinely believe you want to act on your thoughts. Almost like you have this uncontrollable impulse to do the act. This is very typical of OCD.

@anyonymous Try to notice how you respond to those thoughts. You most likely respond with "oh my gosh, how could I ever think something like that???" That there is who you truly are.

@lmolnar Yeah it was kind of like an anxious feeling and thoughts like "that's horrible!"

@anyonymous OCD intrusive thoughts will make you say things to yourself like, "how could I think of or even do such a thing! That's such an awful disgusting thought. How could I think that!" Pedophiles ENJOY these thoughts and fantasise about them. People with OCD do not. The thoughts distress you. You do not enjoy them.

@SeaShell Yeah I guess so. I guess it just felt like I enjoyed it or liked it and that's what worries me. My stomach has been hurting and I'm trying to brush it to the side as just a thought but if it was true I would not even want to live anymore

When I first got the thoughts, I couldn't tell what I wanted. I was terrified. But overtime as many people told me, I began to acknowledge that thoughts mean absolutely nothing.

Yes, thoughts are just thoughts. Every single person in the world has intrusive thoughts. People living with OCD just attach meaning to those thoughts because we genuinely want to be good people and can't stand to even think such a thing. You HAVE to NOT label your thoughts as bad or good. It's just a thought.

@SeaShell Okay. I just feel like I should analyze what I thought and felt and feel now but I know I am not supposed to

@SeaShell Do you think I should analyze it or is that a compusion

@anyonymous Analysing is defined a compulsion!! If you fight and analyse your thoughts, they are going to fight you back! You just have to accept that the brain has thoughts and feelings, and intrusive thoughts are just thoughts. Don't judge them as good or bad. They are just thoughts. The less you interact with them, the weaker your OCD gets!

@lmolnar It was about my friend sharing the Bible in a Sunday school class 😔

@anyonymous what was the bad thing that came to mind?

@lmolnar That I would rather hurt them than teach them the bible 😔

@anyonymous Hmm, that seems like an intrusive thought. Intrusive thoughts have nothing to do with your character, they're simply a misfiring in the brain. Try to stay calm and acknowledge that intrusive thoughts do not make you a bad person.

@lmolnar Have you ever had experiences like this? It felt like the truth and it felt like I really did want to 😞
