I can definitely relate. I been with my husband since high school and I compare our relationship to other people, if he does not respond to texts or calls I accuse him of cheating, I convinced my self that he doesn't care etc

Thanks for responding! I have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years, and it’s always been so lovely. But if he doesn’t do something small to show me he cares it feels like the end of the world. I broke up with him once because I made a huge deal about him not doing the small things for me and I was convinced I had feelings for someone else. I of course feel guilty for it and it doesn’t make this situation any better. My boyfriend knows about it and forgives me fully. My OCD just won’t let it go most times. I feel so irrational when I say these things to him when he does the world for me. I don’t think I have realized it is ROCD until recent. I have struggled with OCD for a long time and didn’t know ROCD was even a thing.

I didn't know ROCD existed either, when I found out about it and I researched it alot I understand it better but I still experience doubts I just try not to act on them like calling him 1 million times etc

Yea me too, the one thing that worries me is the classic thought of “what if you actually feel this way and it is just easier to think you have ocd so you don’t have to go through heart break”. It’s the one that makes me stuck in all my subtypes of ocd. We just have to learn to sit with it. Have you tried meditating to help with ur ocd? I am trying to get into it and it seems to help with just letting thoughts go.

Me too. I know what makes me feel better but I struggle a lot with helping myself stick to it, I can’t help but think it’s because my OCD doesn’t want me to get better. Haha I don’t know if that makes any sense. But I know once I start to get better it tries it’s hardest to stay

Did you address your ROCD theme with you NOCD therapist while you were in treatment?

I did a bit. But we focused mainly on contamination ocd because it was my biggest struggle. Now that is has gone down I notice other subtypes becoming more prevalent

@bean123 Well you’d address these themes the same way you did your previous ones. And it may be a good idea to reconnect with your therapist for a check in if you feel confused about how to start ERP for this.
