What if I’m just questioning my sexuality and dont have hocd?

Well I’m 16 now and never doubted my sexuality before

Can I ask how you knew you were different? My daughter is 12 and she is questioning and in the past has only had male crushes but now she looks at every woman and has an intrusive thought. She says she “wants” to be gay but internally she knows she is straight. What kind of way were you different - what did you feel etc etc. sorry if I’m being too personal

And also did you have anxiety during the questioning and were you questioning yourself multiple times a day ?

It’s amazing that you were able to find yourself and understand your identity despite OCD! I think the OP is most likely experiencing hocd though, and is going through the typical system of wondering if they are just questioning.

What made you question ? Were the same sex thoughts pleasing or uncomfortable?

@rachel1219 It’s a very thin line between HOCD and denial so I’m just trying to understand how you came to the conclusion you were gay vs having hocd

@rachel1219 i don’t think it’s a thin line between hocd and denial. take your daughter to a doctor, even use NOCD

Can you please tell us how you differentiated between it not being ocd and just being gay ? It is really important for me to know this.

@rachel1219 i just knew i was gay growing up cause since i have memory i like boys everytime that i think about men i feel excited but sad because i dont have a bf nor friends

@LGBTQ+heavy metal Oh ok. My daughter has always liked boys. And then one day after watching a TikTok video with two girls she lost it and stArted having major anxiety about her being gay. And she thinks about it all day long. Literally all day long. She started making charts on both genders on which gender should she choose and she says she feels trapped in the thoughts of being gay and her brain is telling her to be gay. I’m assuming this didn’t happen to you. ? Sorry if I’m being too personal.
