Your attraction to girl will come back as soon as you stop giving meaning to your intrusives thoughts and stop doing compulsions. Because you are deep in your ocd you may have become desensitized to the fear of maybe becoming gay, which is normal if do compulsions all day for a long time like I did. Because I have been through the same thing, I'm telling you as soon as you stop giving meaning to your ocd fear by reassuring yourself, your attraction to women will come back you're just too deep in your ocd which has nothing to do with sexual orientation anyway. All ocd are the same whichever the subject hocd, pocd, rocd, harmocd no matter. All ocds have one thing in common a total intolerance to uncertainty. If you want proof you just have to read posts of peoples who suffer from a different ocd type than yours.

Get into therapy, it's the only way out of it. But you have to commit to it at 100% the be effective. You have to understand that your senses are the only thing you can trust. If you start to picture yourself with a guy just to see IF you would like, it's a compulsion and you're just strengthening your ocd. When you are straight you feel excited, attracted and it's fun to be with a woman. There's no negative emotions toward women and no questioning about it, you just love them and that's it. So if that description doesn't fit with what you feel toward guy, if there's no desire to truly get intimate with a man unlike with women than it's your ocd. You are not your thoughts and intrusives thoughts doesn't have any effect on what you are. Even if therapy may seem like a big step, trust me it's necessary. I have suffered from hocd for 14 years now and even after 2 different ocd diagnosis, it's been effective only with the 3rd therapist because it's there that I fully committed to the therapy and to this day I only regret to not have committed to it sooner. Therapy works it's hard but it's worth it.

@Ihateocd83 It's a story about your worst fear which " trigger warning for what will follow" for us with hocd my mean writing a same sex story in which you participate. You have to describe different sexual acts in detail along with sensations to finally ending with you loving it all what just happened in your story and you have to read it constantly until the anxiety goes low enough. The goal is to make you realise that even after going into level of anxiety never experienced before along with doubts and everything else nothing has changed once the anxiety get down. It's not a test to check yourself because you are forbidden to reassure yourself while reading your ERP story. The only thing you have to do is read and let the anxiety rise, stay with it and let it go down and all while not judging yourself at all. Here a link about how to do it correctly: https://ocdla.com/imaginal-exposure-ocd-anxiety-4847. Although you can do it with this app on your own, I strongly suggest a therapist to at least help you with the common pitfalls that may come along with practicing ERP.

But I don’t get triggered so I don’t get it

Shouldn’t erp trigger me?

It should but it depends on the kind of ERP and if it's a imaginary Erp and you don't put enough details in your imaginary Erp story, it won't trigger you. It has to be about the worst case possible scenario for you. This happen when people try ERP on their own, they don't go far enough to reach their core fear, thus it become not effective as it supposed to be.

You didn't change, it's all an ocd illusion. Don't think you are the only one who have gone through that ocd state of mind. It will wear off if you get treatment that's all.
