Good, that's a compulsion. Now accept the uncertainty

@ophillips Yup, its difficult as hell, but eventually you will able to handle it and be at peace while being uncertain

@CasualCritic Yeah and I’ve lost all attraction to opposite sex which makes it even harder

@ophillips Yup, that sucks too! Be patient, it might take a long time but it's worth it. I rather be here then where I was 2 months ago

@jasminex123 I can try!

@jasminex123 No, you're treatment didn't backfire (unless you are doing it wrong). This new thought is another hurdle you have to get past. Just tell yourself, "I don't know what this means, and I'm not going to figure it out." or try saying (it's scary af but it helps) "maybe, maybe not"

@jasminex123 Hell yeah, it's terrifying as hell! As simple as it sounds, there is only one way: face your fears with uncertainty. The more you become uncertain, the more anxious you will feel, but you need to tell your OCD you will not give in to any compulsions and eventually you will come to a point where you are still uncertain but calm

@jasminex123 Unfortunately you have to accept that as a possibility, no matter how tiny that possibility may be. I know it's scary but trust me, uncertainty is a lot calmer than it seems

@CasualCritic I just hate this, I wish I was back to normal

@jasminex123 Trust me, though this treatment you are going to be a much stronger and more confident person.

@CasualCritic Do the thoughts go away during ERP?
- Date posted

@jasminex123 Unfortunately, no not at all. That's not how ERP works. If you are exposing yourself to your fear, your anxiety will be at an all time high. But you MUST do it. It's the only way. Just sit with the anxiety during ERP and whatever thoughts or feelings come up, just let them be and leave them alone

@CasualCritic I see. I thought eventually the thoughts go away, atleast that’s what happened for me in the past

@jasminex123 They might, or might not. What matters is how you handle them
