It is not childish at all. It is your OCD and not your fault, I don’t nor would I ever judge you for these thoughts and actions. You are not alone. I disagree with the other commentor saying to push yourself through it, I don’t believe pushing yourself through a stressful situation will help you. In your case, I would think it might help you to better articulate your thoughts. Maybe that’s writing them down on paper, or in your phone, or even the NOCD app. As another tip, rather than just pushing through this all at once, you can maybe slowly start to add in some of the things that stress you out until you are comfortable with them. Like maybe try buying a few items with music, and doing the rest without? I would definetly make note of this however and discuss it with your therapist in your next appointment.

Im currently not in therapy anymore ive been lazy when it comes to finding a new therapist but i really should get back on it. I appreciate your advice i just get so scared of the consequences of said action like having to live with such decisions? Thank you for not judging me you are very kind. I dont think the act of it is what scares me as much as having to live with the consequences that my ocd/magical thinking as some would say tells me.

There is no but, you have to break barriers and do those things you like to do. So your ocd can kiss your ass

That’s true but I think there surely must be a more pain free path to freedom from your OCD

@James Your ocd is nothing but big bully and liar. You need to stand up to ocd and enjoy your life and be happy.

@snuggle Puggly What form of ocd did you have? Mine has alot to do with magical thinking and the connections that come from it and i really fear that what it’s telling me is true because of the connections that make it so.

@snuggle Puggly Can you please give me an example of a fear related to your ocd and how you handled it? If you feel comfortable?
