It's ME...Take my attendance... Lemme tell you my experience... I've met a boy on internet as a friend. I was always an introvert. He shared his story of being raped by a man and he later turned gay (Although this is mostly fake, he might be going through PTSD). I was a weak minded, overthinking idiotic guy. I was disturbed by his story. I was disturbed, anxious and stressed. I felt the drop of testosterone levels in me (temporary). On the day1, I felt disgusting while looking at men of all ages. Day 2, reduced attraction to opposite gender. Day 3 - Hit with HOCD. Until 5th day, I didn't understood my situation and my research helped me. I felt like, "I always dreamt of being an inspiration for boys in good character and attitude, but am I becoming gay? Man...I never dreamt of this shit (no offence)... My life...going to be destroyed?? I also dreamt of love marrying a girl and then having a happy life..." First 4 days were almost like nofap Flatline. Also, I attempted maaany gender test, "am I gay" tests in Google. BUT On day 5, I have researched on my condition and I have found it as Homosexual Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (HOCD) or "fear of being gay". I've also researched on "What is OCD?"..."why it happens?" Etc etc... And I have also learnt about the cure called "Exposure response prevention". The main aim is to break the chain between Obsession and Compulsion. See, when you react to an obsession to put it off, your mind relaxes and releases chemicals. And you sking mind want it to happen again and again. So, it repeatedly causes obsession in the form of "intrusive thoughts" and you keep on reacting to it and it releases chemicals and it becomes exactly like an addiction. When you deny compulsion, you brain says..."oh okay...sorry...no chemicals". And this OCD chain breaks away. I used this technique for a month added with motivation, willpower, confidence and optimism. Music helped me alot! After a month...believe me...75% of symptoms disappeared.

Thank you very much. For like 3 weeks, i tried to stop the compulsions, research, but i just feel like i lost all my interest in boys and i always have to check if i'm attracted to a girl i've met or i've seen on the internet. I try to move on with my life, but i think i'll never be back at normal. How long will this last?

If not complicated...self treatment is best... I'm an optimist and I believe OCD comes actually to make you mentally stronger after you kick it... Time is based on your severity...you can set a goal and fk it away...

So will my attraction to boys come back or my orientation changed?

@Anonym1l It doesn’t change your orientation and after some time your normal attraction feelings will come back. Just give it some time.

You are the hero of the movie called "your life". If you want to have something, go and have it! It doesn't change your orientation. You will be/are 100% straight. But if you just move on, not caring about it, you will be mentally weakened.

I just want my life to be like it was before, when i was crushing on boys and dreaming about getting married and having children..i start to think all my dreams from my past had literally no sense

It totally depends on your perception towards the disease, severity, willpower and your urge to recover... Honestly, I felt suffocated for the first few days...and now, I feel no problem walking half naked before boys...lol... Just believe in yourself...that's it...all the best friend...🙂

@Anonym1l Maybe you can try making an experiment for yourself. it is to try to get up early in the morning, exercise often and exclude the mind when they come. try a week to say to yourself, it's just ocd! and laugh a little at it. I know it's not an easy task, but I personally have benefited from making an experiment for my self! I don’t know why but it feels a little better to take one step at a time for me.
