Hey! I understand you’re experiencing a lot of anxiety right now, hence why you came here and asked this question. It seems as though you’re using this as a compulsion, and that’s really not good and you’re making your OCD much, much worse. To answer your question, and probably unfortunately giving you reassurance - this is normal! So normal that it is actually the most watched porn category amongst women. The statistics are shocking, with the most watched porn category by MASS amounts being lesbian porn, and the second, gay male porn. Typically straight women don’t enjoy watching straight porn! Of course there is going to be a percentage of women who ARE bisexual and lesbian, but the statistics show that there is DEFINITELY straight women watching this type of porn. The study was conducted by google. There’s also been a number of studies done that show that women are much more responsive to sexual imagery than men, regardless of what it’s depicting. The overlap between arousal and desire is just 10% for women, with a greater number of 50% for men. This knowledge isn’t going to help your OCD though. The women who watch this and don’t have OCD are just gonna brush it off and accept the uncertainty and move on, us OCD folk cant do that. Once there’s an obsession, there’s inevitably gonna be a loop of compulsions. I’d advise you to drop the porn. There’s a debate as to whether it is harmless or ultimately detrimental, either side of the debate having good points - but porn and OCD is just a battleground that turns into a land of compulsions. ERP will help you, I promise. It’s gonna feel worse before it feels better. Research ERP and start (preferably with an ERP OCD therapist). Identify what you’re compulsions are after researching the nature of compulsions and DROP. THEM. I’m almost recovered from this theme and I can say that compulsions are SO BAD. Checking behaviours being the biggest contender.

@mallorycg4 I’m so glad you had a positive experience too! When I first started ERP, it was so, so scary - for a minute everything felt real and it seriously spiked my anxiety. It isn’t an instantaneous process, it is gradual. For some people it will take a week, for others it can take upwards of a couple of months!

@Ellie Yes! It was incredibly difficult sometimes but it’s so worth it now to be able to actually have most of my life back. It took mine about 2.5 months and it was bumpy, but I can’t recommend ERP enough to people now.

its completely NORMAL for someone who is not a lesbian to like lesbian porn, it doesnt make you a lesbian, but if you are using it as a compulsion stop now. cuz it's like adding fuel to the fire, you dont need that.
