Yes I used to suffer with this soo much. 24/7. A thing that helped me was the verse: 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. So when you see these 'signs' do you feel more confused? Because I did. I would think, what does God mean by that? What could that stand for? But does that really mean that, or could it mean something about this? Then I might pray and pray, research, try and find something that fits the 'sign' to a meaning. It's definitely not from God. That's for everyone. And especially us, who have OCD, I know He wouldn't do this to us to further our pain and distress. People who are not Christians even deal with this in their ocd. Its called magical thinking. Believing there are 'signs' in things. But we have attached the meaning to God is telling us something. Hope this helps! This really has been a struggle of mine for years. And things have improved so much, to God be the glory. But still times I find my instruive thoughts popping up trying to making a connection or figure it out.

Yes, it causes a lot of confusion! Yes I just developed that and sometimes I thought it was helping like God was guiding me but yes a lot of times I was confused like it quit working. Maybe I even manipulated my mind what something could mean. Can I ask a question? What do you think "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path." Proverbs 3 something--- That's kind of when I started looking for signs but maybe they are way more obvious how he is talking to us.

Hey! I understand. I believe this means to trust God's Word and not our own personal way of thinking (our fallen nature and sinfulness). How do we know the character of God? Its in His Word, the Bible. And in Jesus Christ. So we will learn to trust God's way of doing things, more than our own desires and way of doing things. Because HE created wisdom, not us. For example, Jesus teaches us to pray for our enemies. Do we 'want' to pray for our enemies? No, it doesn't come naturally to us. But God's wisdom is far superior than ours, and He tells us to do that so we obey. We let go of trusting in our own understanding which would to be 'no way am I praying for that person!', and trust in God's way because it is good. And it might even teach us a lesson along the way š¤.. And as we walk with Christ, He continues to sanctify us and God creates us more and more into the image of His Son. So even using the two Scriptures we have spoken about, leaning on your own understanding would be thinking there is meaning in signs and further perpetuating the OCD. But the Truth, found in God's Word that God is not the author of confusion (1Corinthians 14:33). So these 'signs' don't match up with His truth. Therefore, we must let go of trusting and looking into these signs. Are you in therapy at the minute? š¤It could be a great topic to bring up with your therapist too so you can do ERP in a scaled way!

Like things that feel like āevidenceā and cluesā¦. Itās like I canāt let these things go. Iām not talking about āsigns from the universeā , I mean actual real life things your ocd is using against you. Not reassurance seeking.

Does anyone ever feel like you know you have OCD, but at the same time you think it might actually be you connecting to a higher consciousness or vibration that is trying to control your decisions so that the outcome does not turn out bad kind of like the butterfly effect. It drives me crazy because I know Iām conscious that itās OCD but at the same time I overthink and feel like it might be a higher power trying to warn me that Iām not doing something right, like example; if I flip the trash can lid a couple more times itās going to pervert something bad from happening and that why Iām sensing Iām not doing it right, because if I spent a little more time there and if I would have left earlier the outcome wouldāve been different. Or say I just fight through it and choose to ignore it, but then Iāll carry that negativity/worry of not feeling like I did it right and will project it out into existence because the thought wonāt leave my head and in a way your seeking it out into existence since you keep thinking about it, kind of like an affirmation?
