I'm sorry you're not feeling great. I found that when I learned to not hate my thoughts is when they lost their power. This is just my opinion, I'm not a doctor, but this is how I learned to stop most of my intrusive thoughts. If you're struggling def talk to an ocd counselor , but always remember the most important voice is your own, so find a counselor that you feel comfortable working with. No matter the thought , you have OCD so what you have to realize is that you may not have a choice of what comes into your mind( which happens to EVERYONE, not just people with ocd), but YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE of what you give power to and let stay in your mind ( you just get anxiety so OCD is the loop that happens bc of the anxiety). When you realize you have a choice , you can shut that loop down by just not giving importance to your thoughts and you can get your power back. At any moment you can say to yourself that's stupid and I know it's not true so be there if you want I don't care, and if the thought comes back say it again....oh ok that's nice, whatever...or mb it's true but mb it isn't (you just mean I don't care, not that you actually want the thought or that it's true)There's a saying that goes , what you resist persists. This is the same with urges in OCD as well , you get an urge ....tell yourself ok I'm just going to let you sit there and focus back on what I was doing. Thought/urge comes back, do the same. Talk to it like its a bully....if you act scared of a bully it hammers you harder, but if a bully tells you you're stupid and you talk back and say ok I'm stupid, the bully won't know how to respond. You deserve a great life, they're only thoughts and you do have a choice to stop them, it's just fear that keeps you doubting. Also I know it can feel very real and scary at times, but just remember no matter how bad they feel, you do have a choice to be in control if you choose it ...sometimes with OCD we might just forget that bc we feel scared. It may take practice at first, but you can live a normal life. Best of luck to you <3

Im 36 years old... I live with my son n my bf... I shared a little with my bf but for the most part i hide it on the inside

you can make an appointment with Chrissie Hodges, her email is ocd.chrissie@gmail.com , She can help you find a qualified counselor... she's a peer support specialist...she was mine. My thoughts use to be awful and I felt very alone and had every single type of ocd thought imaginable( horrible, scary thoughts), hang in there and reach out and you will find someone to help so you can start feeling better. I'm so sorry you're feeling scared

Of course!! 💕 We're around the same age, I'm 38=). You're really strong dealing with ocd this long and I know it feels scary but just takes time.

i know it's exhausting, either way it def hard =(, if it helps you can remind yourself to choose the hard to face it and overcome it, not the hard of suffering with it and not doing anything about it.

Hi!! I'm doing good. Sorry I don't get on here too often. It def takes time. Just keep at it=). You have to let them pass sit with the uncomfortable feeling and little by little the fear will diminish
