When I did ERP some of my exposures included: Not texting during certain hours, not saying I love you during certain hours, no physical contact for certain hours, deleting texts as to not reread and over analyze. Not sure if any of these would help you. My ROCD was based on “does he really love me” “are we right for each other” “if these things ^^^ don’t happen he’ll break up with me”

'Do I feel happy with my bf?' 'Are these relationships right for me?' 'Did I ever feel happy?' Triggers me just to write those...

@Daria Alexandrovna Jeeezz all the same ones i got haha ! Sorry I’ve came to the point where i can laugh at these annoying obsessions 🙄 the biggest thing when these thoughts come into play for me is to accept the fact that i do not know absolutely anything. Soo i like to agree woth the thoughts when they’re present themselves and just sit with that uncomfortable feeling without preforming any type of compulsions. As for the ERP part of it i would write lists of the reasons i shouldn’t be with my boyfriend. Schedule days that we don’t speak as frequently. No Goodmorning texts (this is because my brain tells me if i don’t text him as soon as i wake up then that means i don’t love him.) also i use the loop tape option here on the app and i record my obsessive thoughts and listen to them on repeat. The biggest exposure for me though is staying in my relationship....At the end of the day you always have a choice whether your ocd is telling you that you don’t.

@Anonymous Didn't see your message before! Thank you for this big text!! I wonder - how does it work? Why does it help? I'm scared just thinking about these methods...

@Daria Alexandrovna we develop anxiety because there’s fear surrounded by whatever thought it is we’re having. Soo when we expose ourselves to these things we’re telling our brain that there’s no actual threat and therefore the anxiety diminishes. The more we expose ourselves to these fears the more our brain becomes desensitized to those things. Hope that makes some sort of sense

@Anonymous Yes! It does. Before you started doing all this, were you scared that it would turn you away from your partner? Because I am... and how do you feel now? Do you feel more content in the relationships?

@Daria Alexandrovna I was mostly scared that i was going to be told that i don’t have ocd and that i just don’t wanna be with my boyfriend. As of now my thoughts aren’t as frequent and when they do come i know how to deal with them a lot better. I still have my days but overall I’m A LOT better than what i was when this all started for me. Just seeing how far I’ve come gives me hope as long as i keep up with what I’m supposed to do.

@Anonymous I think I have a continuous problem with obsessions and my mind doesn't care what to grab on... I hope that some time I'll be able to talk about this with a therapist... thank you again, I will write incase I need to talk!

@Daria Alexandrovna No it usually doesn’t care as long as it gets a reaction out of ya. Normally going for the things that mean most to us in life. Soo annoying !

@Anonymous I've been obsessed with something every winter of every year, the mechanism of coping is the same.. I'm so angry it's about my bf now. The first person I planned serious relationships with in my life... and they're super healthy
