Anyone have Relationship OCD about their friends? I have never been in a romantic relationship, so I obsess over whether or not my friends undervalue me. Which is a result of just being obsessed with my friends, period. I heard limerence can be tied to OCD? My last therapist thought so. Mind, I also have ADHD so...fixation central. But I do feel like this could all be a touch of narcissism though, lmao. BuT thats a common OCD worry, too. Hm. But like, why do I have to be the MOST/equally important to their boyfriends or else I feel worthless? To me, it's because I feel lame about thinking I love them more, and thinking that I'll always be the one who loves more. I also worry incessantly that I'll never have a romantic relationship, and that I'm not capable of anything more than platonic obsession, despite having a desire for romance and having experiences (very) small crushes. I mostly obsess over the thought that no one loves me, though, and that I'm just cheap entertainmen...and then feel majorly jealous of friends' significant others, despite not being attracted to my girl friends themselves. All this makes me ruminate like crazy on how I'm inferior, or, "god's lonely man (woman)," and it's impossible to reason me out of my anxiety. It also makes me do compulsive things as a distraction, like obsess about an ideal future relationship (some knight in shining armor lmao) and obsessively use tinder and have sex despite not enjoying any of that or having any real desire. Even my friends recognize that I'm addicted to this despite the lack of reward. My behavior always makes things worse but I always think oh next time will be better and I won't feel left out...or I think oh I have to get used to just being a sexual object becauze no one loves me. Does this ring a bell? Platonic and fantasy based ROCD? OCD hypersexuality?

also i feel like people with ocd are capable of love, we just are a bit more obsessive / obsessive tendencies about it and think ab it more ? but i dont think it in a crazy way bc we hold back a bit but i realized in general ppl with ocd are a bit more obsessive with things they like!

it's basically just being love obsessed! it's being so into someone (usually romantically but for me it is platonic) that they take up more space in your head than anything else and other relationships or interests fall to the wayside...or just make you obsess about the person more! it's hard to explain but I've never really understood liking things in moderation and the same applies to people....to the point that folks will tease me for having a crush etc even if I dont!

@purekookaine oh!! makes sense i feel like i have a bit of that bc of my ocd ! but i feel like i have the love feelings ?? feeling secure, trusting. ( of course i have my overthinking moments thanks to my ROCD so sometimes i dont feel too secure) but i just think ab him alot but not time consuming, mostly before bed ?? and sometimes i’ll randomly think ab him throughout the day, could this be considered limerence??? i dont rlly get upset if he takes long to reply and i def can last more than a day without communication. im not sure i think ive heard limerence is kinda wanting to be in constant contact ?? not sure!

@steph it sounds like your feelings are just having-a-boyfriend feelings! sounds normal and not obsessive to me! like ya said, it's not time consuming or clingy. With my "limerent object", I would, ideally, want to link our brains with a chip lmao. I'm kidding, but the point is, I def want CONSTANT contact and she just doesnt so I gotta respect it and it sucks!

@purekookaine ohh thanks! i rlly just think ab him alot but sometimes i completely forget ab him ahaha but tbh it seems u may have love addiction??possibly? if u dont mind what are ur constant obssesive thoughts ?
