does anyone else ever wish they had ANY other theme but pocd? I feel like society is much more accepting of all other themes, but this one. I suppose I understand, I often see people yelling "Stop trying to normalize pedophilia!" online which is far from what I'd want but.... i just think pocd sufferers deserve compassion.

i completely understand you! i get both thoughts and images in my head. It really is true when they say ocd attacks what's most precious to you... let's focus on treating it and releasing these thoughts. I have decided to try out a self-help plan as of tomorrow, I pray it helps me so I can share it with everyone :)

@twiggys that’s amazing! the thoughts and images truly haunt me everyday but i’ve been better recently just letting the thoughts and images pass and not mean anything to me and it’s helped a ton, ERP has helped too. just trying to be more positive and not punishing myself over having POCD and just dealing with it until it subsides!

that's true, im sorry for being so inconsiderate. This was mostly brought upon as I saw something on twitter. A person made a thread of common intrusive thoughts to inform people of them, and everyone kept making rude comments about pocd ones, saying it "normalizes pedophilia" and stuff. I don't think anyone has it any easier, but i still believe ure better off if you say "i constantly think about murder/cheating on my partner" than if you bring kids into the conversation.
