Yeah I agree with Daria I don’t think therapists should be saying things like this

Yea... it just seemed like a huge trigger for me, but isn’t that what ERP is kind of going to be like? Exposing your triggers?

@Jewel You have to have a special ERP session when you will know what is she going to tell you and you have a hierarchie of triggers so you know that Today I am exposed to this one

@Jewel It is for a certain amount of time

@Jewel And you aren't just caught off guard while telling the therapist about your obsessions

I don't really understand why your therapist would tell you this kind of things

With OCD we kind of know the truth but at the same time OCD is a doubting desease so it can latch onto anything

It literally makes me doubt my own thoughts and why I’m even dating my partner and my happiness with him (that is so hard to find nowadays bc it feels like I’m dating anxiety and rOCD than him)

Don't listen to the thought and don't try to further investigate that question because you won't figure it out

This doesn’t sound like an ocd therapist. I would not recommend seeing this person

Have you told your therapist that it's/rocd/ you're struggling with specifically? Maybe he wanted you to feel the uncertainty and work through it. I'm not sure but it's possible your therapist is more of a marriage family therapist rather than panic/ocd specialized

I would assume it's OCD specialist as he works on CBT with her

@Daria Alexandrovna When I was in highschool and got hospitalized for depression, Cbt was the main technique of choice for all the people in the program so im not sure if it varies by state but this was not a ocd ward. We're talking cognitive behavior therapy correct?

@whatadooo Yes, correct. We'll I know that it's used to cure OCD but I didn't know it was used for something else! Maybe it is the case.

I’ve told him before that ROCD was a thing, but he was kind of skeptical that it was a real thing, so I’m not sure he has any OCD treatment experience under his belt.

@Jewel That's bad, you shouldn't go to that therapist I think, he can harm you and he already did
